"Stop writing, stop calling!"
Harry Smith was the husband of former Wentworth Correctional Centre inmate Bea Smith and father of Debbie Smith.
Harry can be charming and popular, and in the early years of their relationship, it’s easy to understand why Bea fell for him. But he is a different person when under pressure and losing control, a side of his personality which Bea experienced at the end of his fist many times.
When Bea had enough of Harry's brutality, she attempts to kill him by taping him to his steering wheel in the car, but is saved when Debbie sees whats about to happen.
Harry tells the police he tried to commit suicide, but the police refused to the believe the story has he had marks on his wrists.
Harry later dies at the hands of Joan Ferguson's henchmen Nils Jesper.
Wentworth storyline[]
Bea tries to kill Harry, for which she is arrested and taken to Wentworth. Harry is left to take care of Debbie on his own.

Harry tells Bea that she needs to stop writing and calling to 'help Debbie' get over the fact her mother is in prison
When Bea calls home to speak with Debbie, Harry tells Bea that Debbie has locked herself in her room and she won't come out, he tells Bea that she failed her exams and she 'can't cope' because the kids are making fun of her, when Bea and Harry hear a noise on the phone and realising their conversation might be recorded Harry tells Bea that he is coming in for a visit.
During a visit In the visitors centre Harry is waiting and sitting at the table and he sees Bea and when she sees him she asks if Debbie is there. Harry tells Bea that the cops are re-interviewing a heap of people such as the neighbours and his work mates about the two of them and they are asking a whole heap of personal questions and Harry says that she knows him and how much he likes to keep private, Bea again asks where Debbie is again and Harry tells Bea that he is only there so they are both on the same page because they can't talk about it over the phone and Bea says that it has been over a month since she last seen Debbie and that she wants to see her Harry tells that it isn't going to happen and he is only doing it for Debbie because she begged him. Bea chuckles and says that he is only doing it for himself and that the cops wouldn't be re-investigating if they didn't think something was going on and he is just worried that everyone will find out what type of person he really is and that she is still Debbie's mother. Harry then says because Bea is not there he is the one who has to clean up the mess left behind and he tells Bea to stop writing and calling and think about what is best for Debbie, Bea looks on concerned.
In season two, Harry is an angry, broken man avoiding responsibility for Debbie’s death and wanting to somehow move on with his life. He visits Bea in prison to hand her divorce papers. She agrees, but only if he kills Debbie's murderer, Brayden. He tries but fails to do it.
During his prison visits, he notices chemistry between Bea and prison officer Will Jackson, and accuses Will of having a relationship with Bea. This leads to a few confrontations between the two men.
In early season three, he is killed. The police's main suspect is Will Jackson, due to their history of confrontations. Bea initially suspects the "Red Right Hand", a vigilante group against domestic violence who thought of Bea Smith as their hero. Bea then comes to understand that Governor Joan Ferguson was actually behind it and her henchman Nils Jesper was the one who killed him.
Trivia[]
- In the original series, Bea shoots and kills Harry in episode 2. In Wentworth, Harry's death is not shown on-screen and he was killed by Nils Jesper instead of Bea.
