The women of H Block return to Wentworth after the rebuild to find a new dynamic in play - Vera is governor, Will is deputy and Kaz Proctor has established a power base.

Linda informs Vera the inmates have returned

The women are on a bus travelling back to Wentworth after spending time at Walford following Wentworth's fire, Bea is looking out the window to a graveyard as Franky goes on the radio where the presenter introduces her as 'big dog' but she says the term is "top dog" and the presenter then says that she was the baddest bitch of them all and he can feel that vibe. As someone is watching on from the governors office Frank says that there were worse people then her and not all of them were on her side of the bars. As the inmates are singing nursery rhymes to keep Josh happy Boomer ruins "the wheels on the bus" with "all the way to prison" the bus continues it's journey as it goes past people who are talking. Franky's interview continues where she says she refuses to talk about "Scarface" and gives her tips on surviving on the inside and it being about power and what you would do to survive. Kaz tells the women that they are all strong and they don't need Bea. The bus arrives at Wentworth as Maxine says "here we are" and Boomer replies with "home sweet fuckin' home" Linda knocks on the governors office door to reveal that Vera is governor. Linda tells her that the inmates have arrived.

The brawler is arriving at the gates as Vera and Channing are talking and Vera tells Channing she ideally needs two weeks to reintegrate the inmates who had come back from Walford. Channing tells Vera that the board views the rebuild of the prison as a clean slate and in two days the joint will be crawling with journos and he says after what happened the prison needs a good news story. The bus stops in the Sally port as Vera and Will oversee the returns, Boomer looks out of the bus at Vera and says "Look at Vinegar Tits she's got her governor pants on.." and that she is back bitches. Jenkins is welcomed back as Will says hello to Josh and Doreen as Bea looks and sees that Will has been promoted.

H Block returned to their new 'updated' unit after the fire

The women take a look at the new H block and complain that it missing some stuff, as they end up reading the brochure about what is happening at the prison now Liz loves the idea of some of the new programs as Boomer is stunned that the people used in it "look like barbie dolls". As more inmates show up to welcome back Bea to the prison she is given gifts like Chezeels and jams, Juice hands Bea a shiv and says that she may need it. Linda Miles comes in with Kim and Boomer asks why she has been moved in with them, Linda reveals that the governor wanted to mix some of the returns with the newbies. Doreen asks Linda if she can use the phone and when Bea gives Linda a look lets her. As Boomer reveals that Bea is going to try and get them conjugal visits. When Kim sees Bea, Bea is shocked at what she sees as Kim has become addicted to drugs and has been scarred up by the drug use.

Doreen is on the phone when she learns that Nash Taylor has been released from prison and had his charges dropped after he was framed by Ferguson. He asks how Doreen is doing and Doreen says that she is fine and is happier now that he is out and safe, Doreen hands over the phone to Josh and Liz pretends to speak for him and says that he will eat Boomer's chocolate.

Allie introduces herself to the women of H Block

As the women are talking about the new programs Liz and the girls joke about which ones would be filled as Allie walks into the unit and she introduces herself to Bea and the women and she says that Kaz wants to see her and Maxine tells her that if Kaz wants to see her it'll be on Bea's terms. Allie then asks when and where, and Bea says at changeover in the laundry.

Will walks in to the unit and tells Bea that the governor wants to see her. As Will and Bea walk down the hallway Bea jokingly tells Will "you're still here" as Will replies he is a "glutton for punishment" Bea then congratulates Will on his promotion to deputy Will says thanks as Bea asks if Matthew Fletcher is still working at Wentworth, Will reveals that Fletch quit and moved to live in Tasmania on a farm herding sheep, Bea jokes and says that it is pretty much like Wentworth, Will laughs as Bea enters the governors office.

Bea is in the governors office as she looks at the art on the wall, Vera says that it is Prisoner Art Therapy and Bea jokes 'have they recovered' Vera chuckles and tells Bea to sit. Vera asks Bea how is she settling in. Bea says it is 'better then the ritz'. Vera tells Bea that she is going to be a tough but fair governor as she has worked very hard over the last couple of months with the programs that she has introduced and she will see them through but she needs Bea in her corner and to be able to work with her as Top Dog. Vera reveals that in the coming days the new parts of the building will be opened and there will be some attention from the media about it and Bea holds up one of the pamphlets and says that it is to 'impress the press' Vera agrees and says that part is the fluff but everything else is very real and needed for rehabilitation. Bea then says the programs have "clearly" helped Kim Chang, and Vera says to Bea that she is the only Top Dog that has never trafficked drugs and that the women need her, Bea says what if she can't be stuffed to do it, and Vera tells Bea that there are so many young women in the prison who are at risk. Bea agrees and makes a plea that the women want conjugal visits and Vera says that in the spirit of cooperating she will give the idea to the board on the basis that there isn't any trouble with the media. Bea tells Vera that if there is it won't be from her.

Bea comes out of the airlock as Maxine asks where she was, Bea says that the governor wanted a chat as Maxine tells her it is time for the changeover in the laundry and hands her a shiv and Liz witnesses it and says that it has started already and no one gives a crap, Bea and her crew go into the laundry as Linda gives them looks as she leaves and Bea holds on to the shiv as her and Kaz stare at each other until Kaz reveals that she is holding booze and tells her "welcome home" when Maxine goes to grab it Kaz tells her that it isn't for "her mate". Kaz extends and Bea finally takes the booze and Kaz says that she was pissed off at Bea for thinking that she had betrayed everything they stood for but Kaz says she understands just how dehumanising prison can be and that she is much of a victim of it then she is, Bea tells Kaz that is no victim and Kaz says "fuck being a victim" and she says that she wants to be Bea's friend and when takes the booze she pulls Bea in and says "even though you shopped me to the cops" leaving Bea confused, Kaz and the women in the laundry celebrate Bea's return.

As Doreen puts Josh to bed, the women are seen celebrating their return to Wentworth with the booze they were given as a gift from Kaz. As Boomer turns up the music and jokingly puts the dummy in her mouth, Bea watches on feeling like something is going to happen as she looks at Kim who is struggling with her addiction. Doreen comes back out of her cell and tells someone to turn down the music.

Vera is in her office standing and looking out of the window until she receives a phone call and when she takes it she asks 'what time' and thanks the person before hanging up. Bridget comes in with wine and she asks her that she got the phone call and Bridget says that she has her cue cards ready and Vera says she has never been one for public speaking before either, Bridget says that she will be fine and Bridget asks her if she has her affirmation band, Vera tells her that she hasn't had much belief in the bands before. Bridget tell her the event should be fine and that she has to get home to 'feed the cat'.

Bridget returns home after talking with Vera and calls for the cat when she puts her stuff down. Bridget opens the fridge and looks into it as Franky closes the door and flirts with her. Bridget says that they can't do anything as Franky tells her that she is later in coming home, Bridget says that she had a drink with Vera, and Franky asks if she saw any of the women after they came back from Walford, Bridget says she has and that they are all fine. Bridget tells Franky that she heard her on the radio and she sounded great as Franky then says all the talk of girl-on-girl action made her hot. Franky proceeds to the push Bridget on the table and tells her it's 'time to feed puss.'

Ferguson returns to Wentworth on remand from Sinclair

During the night the H block women are drinking and carrying on as Bea has enough and decides to go to her cell as Liz follows in and jokingly calls the drunks annoying she asks Bea how she is and Bea doesn't know how to respond as Liz says it's probably the move from Walford back to Wentworth. Bea says it's not like that as she tells Liz and she tells her that she feels like something bad is about to happen, Liz tries to assure her that everything is ok and invites her for a tea outside, Bea says no and Liz leaves. Bea when Liz leaves she gets the shiv out of her sock and she wants to do something but she looks around her cell and decides not to do anything just yet. Vera walks around the prison and walks into the sally port where a brawler has just arrived and is waiting. When Vera goes outside she stands next to an officer the brawler opens as two guards get out of it first then it reveals Joan who is returning to Wentworth after spending time at Sinclair after the fire she looks a Vera and says hello before being taken into prison..

In the morning, Bridget and Franky are getting ready as Franky realises that Bridget is wearing her lucky undies as she has a job interview soon and Bridget jokes saying it's Franky's fault for being so far behind in the washing. Franky gets a phone call from her parole officer and they wonder where Franky is, Franky lies and tells them that she is at the shops and will be there in a few minutes. Franky hangs up and says she's got to go as the parole officer is at her house. Bridget tells Franky that she has to be careful because if she isn't at her house more mornings then someone will find out that they are together. Franky leaves the house and goes to her car while her dad is watching from his car

Linda tells Will he should've let Ferguson burn after she returns on remand to Wentworth

Vera reveals to the staff during a staff meeting that Joan Ferguson has returned to Wentworth after her stay at Sinclair, the staff can't believe it and Linda says '"you're joking" as Vera says that it is not ideal for a whole heap of reasons as she tells the staff that Joan will be staying in the new protective isolation unit until her trial and that she is to have no contact with any of the inmates and must have minimal contact with staff, Vera says if anyone has an issue with it to raise it with her while they are at the meeting. The staff remain quiet as Vera tells Radcliffe to stress the importance of the Contraceptive Pill Program and it's voluntary nature, Radcliffe says she can do that, the meeting ends as Vera says that the media will be in the prison tomorrow and she wants to show "Wentworth's Best Face" and to be prepared for the event everyone begins to leave as Linda says to Will that it is his fault for Ferguson being in Wentworth, Will asks why and Linda just says to him that he should've let her burn.

Radcliffe explains the program is "Vol-un-tary.."

Liz is handing out pamphlets as the women ask what is going on and why are they getting these. Radcliffe tells the women that the Contraceptive Program begins today and she explains is voluntary nature. Kaz complains to Radcliffe about being put on the pill and Radcliffe says the program is there for inmates to prevent an unwanted pregnancy after they get released from prison. Liz then says what does she need it for while Maxine says that she feels like she's at a party she hasn't been invited too. Kaz tells Radcliffe that she can't force them on the pill and Radcliffe again reiterates the program is voluntary, as the women argue about some more, Will tells the women to calm down and Kaz tells him that the women refuse to be on the program, Bea tells Kaz that it isn't her choice and that the other women have a right to choose to be on the pill. Kaz snarkily asks Will why he is so keen for the women to be put on the pill and questions if there is an inmate he would like to screw and not get pregnant, Will tells Kaz to watch it.

Vera goes to visit Ferguson in protective isolation and watches Ferguson in her cell as Ferguson turns to face Vera. Vera asks Ferguson if there is anything she needs, as Joan sees Vera's wrist band she says she would like a pencil, so that she can write a letter Vera tells Ferguson that she cannot be trusted with pencils and denies her request. Vera asks Joan why her lawyer petitioned for her to be sent to Wentworth, Joan says that she wanted to see what the prison was like after the rebuild. A Drug Effected Kim climbs the Fence as Linda watches

While the women are outside in the exercise yard, Kim is walking backward and forward in a haze as Bea buys something from the commissary and Kaz asks her what she got but Bea ignores her. Doreen who is speaking to Liz says that she doesn't like Kaz because of how she gets things done, Liz says that Kaz just stands up for what she believes in and it is good for her to do that. As Boomer says that she is refusing to take the pill as her body is a futile space. As a ruckus from Kim who was just walking up and down the space has a full freak out while on drugs as Liz wonders what is going on Maxine says that Kim has been coked up to the eyeballs since they returned from Walford. Kim is trying to escape an officers grasp as Linda tries to help and she chases after her but when this fails Kim tries to escape and she climbs up the fence and into the top wire. Will follows her to help her get down as Linda calls medical to let them know they have a prisoner incoming to medical, Will tells Kim it'll be ok

Doreen is settling down Josh after Kim's meth freak out and Liz comes back to the unit and asks if he is ok. Doreen says that they can paint and fix Wentworth up all they like it is still 'evil'. Liz says that Josh wouldn't even know what is going on and says she'll be glad when Josh is out of the prison soon. Liz tells Doreen it was hard when Sophie went to the prison farm but she is making the right decision as she herself will be released from prison soon. As Bea comes back in to the unit Liz is still talking about family. Doreen tells Bea that she has to do something about the drugs in the prison.

The officers struggle to hold Kim as Radcliffe has to sedate her

As Kim is in medical she is seen trashing about as Nurse Lee Radcliffe tells officers to keep her still as she tries to sedate her, Linda said that it is 'easier said then done' as she is heavily affected by drugs. When Radcliffe finally manages to sedate Kim the officers sigh in relief as Vera comes in and Will walks over to get and Will says that they must order a ramp as it is the third meth freak out in a month. Vera refuses to order one and tells Will to put Kim in isolation to sleep it off. Will who can't believe it says that all Vera is doing is hiding her, Vera says that is precisely the point before the media is coming in the next day and they don't need to see Kim in that state. When Vera leaves Will talks to Bea who asks what they are going to do with Kim because Doreen is 'freaking out' Will rudely tells Bea that Doreen is the least of his problems and to go back to her unit as he doesn't give a 'fuck', Bea ends up leaving.

In the bathroom Tina is seen trying to get rid of her drugs in the sink before she is caught by Bea, and when several crews come in to see what she will do, she gets Maxine to bash Tina, and as Tina is taken to medical by another inmate, Kaz is speaking with her crew and says that Bea has become an abuser who is also getting Maxine to do her dirty work.

Joan is seen by Doreen in Protection

As Kim sleeps off her meth freak out in protection Bridget tells Linda to inform her when she wakes up. Bridget walks past and Joan presses the button and says that she is surprised that she has come to see her. Bridget says that Joan had her psych assessment at Sinclair and she can go over the results if she is having trouble adjusting to Wentworth and asks her if she is having trouble adjusting. Joan asks Bridget how Franky is and Bridget tells her that she doesn't know and Ferguson says that she can smell her Bridget laughs and walks away as Ferguson says to say hello from her. Bridget looks at the file with Brenda and asks her if the dose she is getting is correct, Brenda says it is and asks why, Bridget says that Joan is more lucid then normal. Doreen comes into the unit and Linda asks what the hell she is doing there and Doreen says she is there to see Kim but instead sees Joan and is immediately taken away.

In the dining room while the women eating Boomer tells Liz that she is pregnant because her boobs are really sore and they never get sore only when Daz used to motorboat them did they get sore. Bea sees Allie looking at her, where Allie says that Bea is pretty impressive to Kaz who tells her that Bea is the reason they are in Wentworth because she was the one who shopped them to the cops. Liz asks Boomer if she is off her food and Boomer says that she is as someone asks who the father would be and Boomer says some rando from Walford. Doreen comes in a tells everyone that Ferguson is in protection.

Bea talks with Vera and asks why Ferguson is even at Wentworth and Vera tells her that Wentworth is the only Maximum Women's Security Prison in the state and she needs to be accessible to the courts. Bea tells Vera that if she wanted to work with her she should have told her about Ferguson. Vera tells Bea that Ferguson is in protection and that she is her problem and not Bea's.

Joan and Murphy in the Protection Unit

Joan is standing when she is receiving her meds with Brenda Murphy watching over Ferguson. When Ferguson takes her meds and the nurse leaves Brenda walks over and Ferguson spits her meds out into the hand and asks Murphy if she brought something. Brenda nods and hands Ferguson a pencil and she tells her that she needs her to do something else. Vera is leaving work and walking to her car as Brenda Murphy is smoking in the carpark as Vera is about to get in the car, Murphy walks over to her and hands her the letter that Ferguson wrote where she claimed that Ferguson wanted her to post it. Vera asks Murphy if Ferguson is still taking her Anti-Psychotic drugs and she tells her no as the drugs 'blunt her thoughts' and Vera tells her to keep her updated on the situation.

Bridget returns home as Franky is cooking dinner as the phone rings, Bridget answers it and then puts it down, Franky asks who it was and Bridget says that she doesn't know. Bridget asks Franky who her interview with Legal Relief went and she says that she probably wont get it due to her previous serious assault charge and Bridget says that may help her as she helped inmates in Wentworth with their legal issues. Bridget tops up a wine glass and Franky says that she is a glass full kind of person, and Bridget says she needs it, she tells Franky that Ferguson has been remanded to Wentworth much to Franky's surprise and even asked after Franky again to her surprise, Bridget tells Franky that she thinks Ferguson knows that they are together. Franky then says Ferguson is a psycho not psychic and that all Ferguson is doing is fishing for information. Bridget then says she needs to get changed.

As Doreen is brushing her teeth in the showers she tells Bea a story of how she had one of the worst nightmares that Ferguson kissed her and then her tongue turned into a snake. Bea tells Doreen not to worry as Ferguson wouldn't be released into general as it would mess the governor's career up and leave Ferguson possibly dead. Doreen leaves as Bea uses her hand as a snake to freak Doreen out. Bea continues her shower and has Allie look at her through the curtain and smiles. Bea then confronts Allie who the two are both nude and she tells her if she has a problem with her. Allie says that she is disappointed as she thought Bea would do her own dirty work, Bea then asks her if she wants to be bashed and Allie says 'is this getting you wet' before she decides to slide down toward Bea, Bea looks on in disgust and leaves.

Will and the media endure having tampons being thrown at them.

Vera attempts to control a nosebleed in the bathroom as the media are being welcomed by both Will and Channing and Channing asks where Vera is and Will says that she has been held up and is on her way. As the women sit in the exercise yard the press are being shown the new site and Will is explaining to the media what it is to them. As Vera walks out of the bathroom and sees Will giving a tour as looks to the media and sees Will, Vera looks at her finger to see there is blood on it, as she looks up the women begin throwing tampons at the media and the guards, as they are hurried away to the media room. Vera speaks with Channing and he tells her to fix the mess the inmates made, Vera assures him the tampons were covered in tomato sauce. Vera walks to the podium and faces the media and she jokes about what had just happened. Vera tells the media she will let them tell the story of what happened and if they want to make that day about tampons they can, but she wants to show the media the 'new' Wentworth the 'progressive' Wentworth as the prison has introduced new programs.

Back in H1 Maxine is complaining about what Kaz did to the media and the governor, as Liz tells Maxine that Kaz did it to only make a point, Maxine says it's not the reason she did it but the fact she didn't ask Bea to do what she did. Liz hands Maxine a tea and says it will calm her down and Maxine says that she will calm down Kaz. Liz sarcastically tells Maxine that's all they need is more violence she also says that the prison is still the same prison but with new programs for the women and that Bea is still top dog no matter what Kaz did and those programs give the women something to do. Bea agrees and says that at least the women have something to do and everything will be peachy and blames Liz, Liz says what happened was for Doreen, and Bea agrees she made her bed and she'll have to lie in it for the next 40 years. As Boomer comes out of her cell and says she is not pregnant because she just got her period and because the women left Walford and the 'supply' has run dry all she wanted was to become a mum, but she says it is not the saddest thing as no one in the unit has any tampons.

Vera rips up Joan's letter she wrote for Shayne.

Vera visits Ferguson in the Isolation Unit where Joan is sitting on a chair and Ferguson looks over to Vera and asks if that is blood on her collar and then sarcastically says that being governor is a dangerous job. Vera tells Ferguson that she has had a good day and Ferguson notices that Vera has the letter that she has written to Shayne. Vera tells Ferguson that she knows that Shayne is the son of Jianna Riley the inmate Joan was known to be having an affair with after their relationship became known by the inmates of Blackmoor and Jianna was lynched for it. Vera tells Joan that she has done some checking up and reveals that Shayne is living quietly with a foster family and almost an adult. Vera then reads Ferguson's letter back to her and then rips it up, Ferguson tells her that she shouldn't have done that and calls her Vera, and Vera's reply before walking out is 'it's fucking Governor..'

Franky and Bridget let their hair down after Franky gets her job as a legal aid

Franky is on the phone taking a call as Bridget is doing some paperwork on her laptop and when Franky ends the call she reveals that she is about to start her job as a paralegal Aid for Legal Relief, Bridget congratulates her, Franky wanted Bridget to react better then she did and Bridget says she just has to finish off some work, Franky says there is no time for that it's time to party to Bridget's 'old lezzo music' when the music plays it is Pleasure and Pain by The Divinyls. As the music continues playing Vera pulls up in her car and sees the two are together and Vera leaves. At the prison Doreen is giving Josh to Nash as Doreen says a teary goodbye the two talk as Bea is in her cell and she looks around as Joan looks at the torn up letter that she wrote, Bea struggles with temptation and begins to cut herself as Joan begins plotting.

Trivia

  • The first episode filmed at the new set in Newport Victoria. The set was built in an old TAFE and the show required permission from the Education Department to use the building even though the TAFE was disused.
