Bridget Westfall is Wentworth Correctional Centre's former Psychologist.

Bridget had worked in other facilities in the Corrective Services Industry, Bridget had over 20 years of experience in the field.

Westfall is appointed to Wentworth due to an extreme amount of self harming incidents under Joan Ferguson's governorship. Westfall makes an enemy of Ferguson and at the start Vera.

Westfall resigns from Wentworth due to the rumours about her relationship with Franky become public and she resigns to save face. Bridget eventually opens her own psychology centre.

Time at Wentworth[]

Bridget is appointed to Wentworth by the board after an array of inmates self-harming.

Bridget falls in love with Franky, with the two trying their best to hide their relationship, but is forced to resign after it becomes public knowledge.

Season 3[]

Ep 9[]

As Bridget goes to check on Jodie Spiteri, she finds Jodie in her cell claiming she 'has the courage', and she immediately calls for Sarah Collins. As the code black is called for the psych unit the true extent of the damage is shown. Jodie has damaged her eye, bloodied and broken down Jodie (off-screen) bit the nurse. Vera asks Bridget if she knows what happened, Bridget says she doesn't know how it happened, Jodie is taken to medical for treatment, as Vera finds a pencil under the bed.

Ferguson is reading the report as she speaks with Bridget about what happened. Bridget says that the staff in the psych unit said they saw her go to the psych unit where she says that Jodie was far from being released back into general and was worried about her looks and says that damaging her sight was probably the only way she could do something. Bridget says that she had been progressing well until Ferguson had seen her, and that she had just brought charges against her. As Bridget leaves the room Vera says to Ferguson that she must now need to exclude herself from Level 3 procedures as her Hep C Status compromises her.

As Franky is studying in the library she and Bridget talk privately about Jodie Spiteri, Franky asks if Ferguson did do it, Bridget reckons 'in a way' she had, Bridget asks Franky about what happened in the slot and if what happened to Bea were connected and she agrees that is starting to believe it. Vera catches them both talking.

Vera and Bridget talk in the kitchen and she asks her if the rumours between them were true, Bridget tells Vera that what they spoke about was in fact confidential. Vera tells her if she had any integrity she would resign, Bridget says to her that anyone can plant rumours about anything and so she says Jodie had several visits from Ferguson during her time in the slot, including being told to shiv Bea, and the day she gauged her out. Vera tries to deny any wrongdoing from Ferguson and claims it is a 'benefit to the women'.

Bridget leaves Wentworth after being forced to resign

Vera tells Ferguson about Bridget and Franky's relationship Vera goes to Ferguson about it and it forces Bridget to resign, Bridget asks why Vera had done this to her, and Vera tells her she planted ideas in Fletch's head about his relationship with Jessica Warner, she tells Bridget that just because there is a relationship between staff and an inmate doesn't make it true.

Bridget is escorted out and Franky watches on as she blames herself for it happening, Bridget tells her it wasn't her fault and that she will be at her parole hearing.

When Vera is told by Bridget to read Jodie's file after Vera has Bridget fired, they speak in the carpark and Bridget tells Vera that when Ferguson is brought down that she better not be in Ferguson's sights when it happens.

Season 4[]

Ep 1[]

Vera is in her office standing and looking out of the window until she receives a phone call and when she takes it she asks 'what time' and thanks the person before hanging up. Bridget comes in with wine and she asks her that she got the phone call and Bridget says that she has her cue cards ready and Vera says she has never been one for public speaking before either, Bridget says that she will be fine and Bridget asks her if she has her affirmation band, Vera tells her that she hasn't had much belief in the bands before. Bridget tell her the event should be fine and that she has to get home to 'feed the cat'.

Bridget returns home after talking with Vera and calls for the cat when she puts her stuff down. Bridget opens the fridge and looks into it as Franky closes the door and flirts with her. Bridget says that they can't do anything as Franky tells her that she is later in coming home, Bridget says that she had a drink with Vera, and Franky asks if she saw any of the women after they came back from Walford, Bridget says she has and that they are all fine. Bridget tells Franky that she heard her on the radio and she sounded great as Franky then says all the talk of girl-on-girl action made her hot. Franky proceeds to the push Bridget on the table and tells her it's 'time to feed puss.'

In the morning, Bridget and Franky are getting ready as Franky realises that Bridget is wearing her lucky undies as she has a job interview soon and Bridget jokes saying it's Franky's fault for being so far behind in the washing. Franky gets a phone call from her parole officer and they wonder where Franky is, Franky lies and tells them that she is at the shops and will be there in a few minutes. Franky hangs up and says she's got to go as the parole officer is at her house. Bridget tells Franky that she has to be careful because if she isn't at her house more mornings then someone will find out that they are together. Franky leaves the house and goes to her car while her dad is watching from his car.

As Kim sleeps off her meth freak out in protection Bridget tells Linda to inform her when she wakes up. Bridget walks past and Joan presses the button and says that she is surprised that she has come to see her. Bridget says that Joan had her psych assessment at Sinclair and she can go over the results if she is having trouble adjusting to Wentworth and asks her if she is having trouble adjusting. Joan asks Bridget how Franky is and Bridget tells her that she doesn't know and Ferguson says that she can smell her Bridget laughs and walks away as Ferguson says to say hello from her. Bridget looks at the file with Brenda and asks her if the dose she is getting is correct, Brenda says it is and asks why, Bridget says that Joan is more lucid then normal. Doreen comes into the unit and Linda asks what the hell she is doing there and Doreen says she is there to see Kim but instead sees Joan and is immediately taken away.

Bridget returns home as Franky is cooking dinner as the phone rings, Bridget answers it and then puts it down, Franky asks who it was and Bridget says that she doesn't know. Bridget asks Franky who her interview with Legal Relief went and she says that she probably wont get it due to her previous serious assault charge and Bridget says that may help her as she helped inmates in Wentworth with their legal issues. Bridget tops up a wine glass and Franky says that she is a glass full kind of person, and Bridget says she needs it, she tells Franky that Ferguson has been remanded to Wentworth much to Franky's surprise and even asked after Franky again to her surprise, Bridget tells Franky that she thinks Ferguson knows that they are together. Franky then says Ferguson is a psycho not psychic and that all Ferguson is doing is fishing for information. Bridget then says she needs to get changed.

Franky is on the phone taking a call as Bridget is doing some paperwork on her laptop and when Franky ends the call she reveals that she is about to start her job as a paralegal Aid for Legal Relief, Bridget congratulates her, Franky wanted Bridget to react better then she did and Bridget says she just has to finish off some work, Franky says there is no time for that it's time to party to Bridget's 'old lezzo music' when the music plays it is Pleasure and Pain by The Divinyls.

Ep 4[]

Ferguson is in medical after being checked out by a doctor and a nurse, where Bridget has come in to speak with Ferguson. Ferguson tells her she didn't expect to see her so soon since they didn't have an appointment together. Bridget says to consider it an informal chat and she says that she heard the news that Ferguson had been injured 'quite badly'. Ferguson brushes this off by saying that she fell and that she 'bruises easily'. Bridget asks Ferguson on how being in general feels and that it must feel strange, Ferguson calls it a 'relief' and says it is better then being cooped up, and it has given her perspective on her former work colleagues and what she sees. Bridget asks what she sees and Ferguson says that she sees Vera and her going after her to get her back into protection because of a 'made up' attack such as a ganging, Bridget asks her if she was ganged and Ferguson denies she has been and Bridget tells her what she sees that Ferguson submitted herself to the brutal ordeal to serve a twisted agenda and she doesn't know what Ferguson wants to achieve other then death. Ferguson sniffs at Bridget and asks where Franky is, as Bridget walks away and Ferguson is released from medical,

Ep 7[]

Kaz speaks with Bridget and Bridget tells Kaz that her sentence can be a 'shock to the system' and that she has every right to be angry. Kaz breaks down and says that she is angry at the 'fucker' who put her behind bars.

Season 5[]

Bridget resigns as the counselor at Wentworth episode 8, as it proves to be too much for Franky and her to be in the same proximity but not be together. There are times when Bridget went out on a limb for her and payed for an attorney to help her fight her conviction, but Franky fired him. Bridget feels betrayed that Franky had kept a lot of what was happened with Ferguson and her helping Shayne Butler to herself. This causes Franky to push her away. There is a time when Bridget goes into Franky’s cell and wants to get frisky with her, but Franky sort of attacks her and makes Bridget pull away. Franky tells her that their relationship is over. Bridget says she’ll quit her job and everything just to be with Franky. Franky tells her to get out while she can.

Season 6[]

In episode 6x01 she is surprised by escapee Franky, who shows up on her doorstep, wanting to reconcile and ask for a ride. Franky is surprised seeing Bridget in crutches, though Bridget brushes her off, saying "It's nothing, I was rushing." The police arrive and knock on Bridget's door. Bridget speaks briefly to the police regarding Franky's whereabouts before turning them away, shutting her front door, and looking in vain for Franky, who left the back door open as she fled.

In episode 6x02, Vera shows up on her doorstep and asks what happened to her leg. She again brushes off her injury.

In 6x3, Bridget is seen helping Franky prove her innocence, and Westfall goes to Wentworth and steals Vera's card while the two talk, Vera is fuming when she finds out that Westfall has helped Franky and says that she 'won't cross that line with her' and makes her leave.

Bridget still manages to get the key and takes it back to the train. Where she is arrested by Senior Detective Collins and Detective Hydari who inform Westfall that Doyle needs a doctor and inform Westfall that her involvement could get her 10 years for aiding and abetting, but Collins also says he can make the charge go away if she cooperates, which she refuses and says that they'll have to charge her. Westfall is free to leave after that and goes outside and drops the LUG key on the road.

Bridget is then seen at the hospital after Franky is re-arrested and says to her that 'she did good'. The pair get informed Franky's charges for Farah and Mike's murder will be dropped and the two share a moment. Bridget is seen with Franky having a chat with Boomer, Liz and Allie and stands with Vera to smile.
