Ann Reynolds was the former General Manager of Corrections taking over from disgraced former manager Derek Channing.
Ann before arriving at Wentworth worked in the prison system in England working in London where she met Vera Bennett at the Corrections Academy. The two would maintain a close friendship.
Ann arrives at Wentworth Correctional Centre after the Siege of Wentworth left Corrective Services scrambling for change. Ann places sole blame to underperforming Governor Will Jackson.
Ann initiates several new policies to the prisons she oversaw including adding in Restraint Station's and closing Wentworth's Protection Unit for 'budget reasons', sacking staff and adding spit hoods to the prison.
Ann would suffer tremendously after the loss of her daughter Charlotte suffering from Post Traumatic Stress and a hatred for terrorists, Ann would try and bring down the scheme to bring down Judy by letting the bomb make its way to the prison.
Ann's deception caught out by Vera when she tells her that they had to let the bomb in to place all blame on Judy Bryant. When Ann attacks Vera, Ann has her neck snapped by Joan Ferguson.
Life Before Wentworth
Ann was a friend of Vera Bennett who moved to London and worked in the prison system there, introducing tighter budgets and bringing those prisons into line. Ann had a daughter named Charlotte who was killed in a terrorist attack.
Season 8
Ann Reynolds takes over as General Manager from disgraced Derek Channing, and has introduced new measures in the prison. Ann hounds Vera into returning to work, with Vera declining at first, but a visit to the prison changes her mind. Ann tells Vera that she is planning to make the "empty space" of the corridors into "money makers" which includes a call centre. When Ann wants an answer from Vera about her return to work, Vera agrees but on a condition that Will remains the Governor as the siege was not his fault.
In episode two Ann takes Vera on a night out for drinks, and she later leaves Vera alone to have sex in an alley. Ann also complains that there are too many officers in the Protection Unit and asks if a warrant is necessary for a prisoner file and complains again when Will and Vera are taking forever to give the police Ruby's file.

In episode three witnesses Judy coming into the prison and tells Will that Judy is a special case and that she is not allowed to have any outside contact. Will tells her that he isn't used to the specific detail that Ann uses, Ann tells him that her methods are fast paced and detailed so they don't miss a thing, also refuses to budge on food supplier and Marie's transfer to a psych facility. Ann later refuses to supply Reb's HRT medication due to Lou and Reb not treating Will with respect. Tells Judy to just give up her sources, and bugs are cell for NSO Officer Tony Cockburn.
In episode four Ann announces the closure of the protection unit as the guard to prisoner ratio has become to expensive to keep it going. Will and Vera both disagree that this is a good idea and say it puts them at risk too. Ann watches over the protection prisoners going into general. Ann later talks with Vera and 'apologies' for fighting with her. Ann later talks with Lou and makes a deal with her, that she has to be her eyes and ears and Reb can receive his HRT treatment.
In episode five Ann presents a presentation to the corrections minister, but it goes wrong when Boomer's arse shows up on screen. Ann wants the person found. Ann talks with Linda in the elevator and runs something by her through Lou, which is find the person who sabotaged the presentation and punish them for it. Ann then tells Will to move the protection prisoners into the laundry and finds it stupid that the top dog runs the steam press. Ann authorises Linda to use force when she pepper sprays Judy, and tells Linda not to worry about it. Ann later tells Vera that her daughter died in a bomb blast caused by terrorists and says that Judy is the soul reason she hates terrorists. Ann then backs down on Ferguson being transferred to Sydney and tells Will that she'll be coming to Wentworth.
In episode six, Ann argues with Will over Judy being released from the slot. Ann claims the discipline at the prison is a joke and that Linda was doing her job when Judy threatened to go to the ombudsmen.
In episode seven, Ann makes the decision that Joan is to be returned to general as she will not have the psych unit as a mini protection unit, this rubs Will the wrong way who decides to quit as a result, but he takes back his resignation after his talk with Ann. Ann learns from Lou that Judy is trying to use a phone, and tells Lou to look after Ferguson. Ann later gives Judy the chance to call her father and when her father refuses to fight her charge, Ann takes great pleasure out of this and tells Judy, "You must be such a disappointment.". Later, Judy attacks Ann, under the impression she is Linda, and after realising that it's Ann who she attacked, Judy then calls her a disappointment before brutally kicking her. We then see Ann on a stretcher being taken to hospital.
In episode eight, Vera tells Will that Ann suffered a punctured lung, broken ribs and a concussion as a result of Judy's attack, but is stable and recovering in hospital.
In episode nine, Ann returns to work and is happy that Will managed to keep her assault out of the papers and she learns that Lou was the one who bashed her, but refuses to believe that they have the right person. Ann goes and sees Lou and says Allie lagged and said it was Lou but she believes someone else attacked her.
In episode ten, Ann is briefly seen after Linda speaks with Will, talking about figures on a spreadsheet.
Season 8 Part 2
In episode 3, Ann returns to Wentworth after a month away and obliterates the staff and Will in a staffroom calling Wentworth a "system of systematic mismanagement". She tells everyone she doesn't have this many problems at any other prison except Wentworth. Ann talks with Lou about the murder of Sheila Bausch and says they both had a deal, Lou says "wouldn't you have done the same." Ann leaves the cell and talks with Linda who has info on how to bring down Will. Ann later has installed the bench restraints that Will calls "torture". Ann later hears from Linda that Will has denied a request for Marie to be transferred, and then speaks with Marie and says she can offer her a transfer to another prison where she is unknown to the inmates. Later during Marie's hearing she denies involvement and this infuriates Ann. Later Ann talks with Lou and puts sole blame on Lou for Reb's death, purposely misgendering him in front of Lou. When Lou reacts angrily, Ann plays the victim and calls for a guard to take her away.
In episode 4, Ann is seen talking with Linda about installing Restraint Station's outside in the yard when she has urine thrown at her. She orders the officers to put Judy on the bench and tells Linda later to leave her on the bench all night. Ann later gets a message from her ex and it says 'thinking of you'. Ann is later told off by Will who threatens to report her unless she apologises. Ann does so.
In episode 5, Ann flies off the handle about the camera that is in Wentworth and orders strip searches. Ann is again yelled at by Will who tells her that he can no longer defend her actions as she had embarrassed the women and spoke awfully to the staff. Ann talks with Vera who tells her that she needs to seek some sort of help. Ann later has staff drinks in the staffroom and says to try the drop that she brought in. Ann later goes and sees Judy in medical after she is attacked by Boomer. A gloating Ann tells Judy that Allie has withdrawn her Statement of Dependency and her QC isn't much to go on. She then tells Judy that the most precious thing in her life is already gone (meaning her daughter) and to enjoy her comfy bed while she can. Ann leaves work and starts jogging when Jake almost hits her. Jake offers a lift home and later the two have sex in the car.
In episode six, Ann arrives late for a staff meeting as she has been talking with the minister over the hidden camera situation at Wentworth. Ann says that she wants the camera found and anyone who finds it will get a months extra wages. Ann talks with Will and says that she thought she already talked to him. When Jake attempts to talk with Ann, she tells him if its important to stick it in an email (clearly feeling awkward about having sex with him).
In episode seven, Ann is first seen in a meeting with Will, Linda, Vera and Jake when Will reveals that a threat has been made against the officers. Ann says that they need to be on watch. Ann is later seen after Linda finds the SlammerCam on Gavin Thompson and when Ann gets a look at the footage on the camera, she tells Linda to place him in a holding cell. Ann talks with Dale Langdon and Dale says they will let the bomb play out until they catch them in the act with it, Ann later gets a "ride home" with Jake after saying her "calf is playing up."
In episode eight, Ann is first seen when she is on the phone to the minister. She sees Jake and lets him into her office where Jake reveals that he is ending their "fling" because he cares too much about Vera. Ann tells him to get out of her office. Ann later phones Vera crying in the car. Later Ann files off the handle at Vera for not coming to her when she was in need.
In episode nine, Ann is furious to learn that Judy's charges and extradition are being called off after Tony Cockburn planted the evidence on her laptop. Ann tells Linda to take Judy to the plant room, where Judy is handcuffed to the banister and beaten with a baton, Linda leaves the room and tells Vera. Vera stops Ann from hitting Judy again. Vera tells Ann she is going to report her.. Later after Marie dies, she tries to put all the blame on WIll, but he says to her that closing protection was her idea and that her politics in the prison are a "cancer". Dale Langdon later tells Ann that Lou has brought the bomb forward to the following day.

Ann's final moments
In episode ten, Ann tells the staff she knows of the accusations made against her, and says that everyone may as well be looking for a new job as she is getting a promotion. Ann puts Judy in a holding cell for a transfer, as part of the initial plan to pin the blame on Bryan, however the plan backfires when it turns out that the van containing the bomb is not actually transferring Bryant causing the bomb to explode. As the prison begins to collapse, Ann tries to find evidence of Judy's transfer as it was on her. As a result the explosion kills 5 correctional officers and 28 prisoners including Bryant, Vera confronts Ann on this and discovers Ann allowed the bomb to be transported to the prison to pin the blame on Judy, only to learn she is dead after Vera informs her, in order to keep her treachery a secret, she attempts to strangle Vera but is stopped by Joan Ferguson who saves Vera's life by snapping Ann's neck.
Ann's last lines are "You won't tell anyone.."
