Allie Novak is an inmate in Wentworth Correctional Centre
Before her arrest Allie was a member of the vigilante group known as the "Red Right Hand" whose leader Kaz Proctor went around giving "justice" to people who escaped it in court.
Allie continues to serve her sentence at Wentworth Allie has years added on due to obstructing justice and shooting dead Sean Brody and becomes Top Dog, but makes an enemy in Lou Kelly and is used by Judy Bryant to stay her sentence in Wentworth.
Allie survives the prison explosion.
Before Wentworth
Allie was once a drug addicted street prostitute who suffered abuse by her clients and her pimp Marie Winter failed to protect her. Kaz Proctor found her and insisted on taking her under her wing. Fiercely independent, Allie had no interest in being saved by anyone but she was interested in the violent retribution the Red Right Hand was enacting. As a lesbian woman, Allie found solace being with women and emotional respite from a lifestyle she couldn’t escape.
Life at Wentworth
Allie arrived at Wentworth Correctional Centre alongside fiery inmate Kaz Proctor and fellow red right hand members. Allie took an almost immediate interest in the top dog, Bea Smith and the two started to become close after realising that they had a lot more in common then they realised when they ended up talking when they were slotted together telling stories about how Debbie once built snails a home or how Kaz helped Allie overcome addiction.
Allie reveals she got 10 years.
Because of Allie's involvement with Red Right Hand she is sentenced to 10 years in Wentworth for a wide array of charges and isn't mad at it. After Bea lags to Vera about the drugs and Bea stands down as top dog the two make love and are content.
Allie relapses on to the drugs and takes meth and Bea helps her get off them cold turkey. When Allie goes to the showers, Joan Ferguson gives her a hot shot intended to kill her. Bea finds Allie in the showers and raises the alarm. Allie is transferred to hospital and placed on life support. Days later Allie wakes up to learn that Bea has been killed by Joan Ferguson. She gets determined to avenge Bea's death and kill Joan.
After coming back to Wentworth from the hospital after she was hotshotted which she luckily survived, Allie develops a strong and solid friendship with Franky, both of them being emotionally linked by the recent tragic events concerning Bea’s death, which involved the two of them.
Allie will then pretend to have fallen again into drug addiction in order to obtain a massive dose with which she will try to kill Ferguson, despite being discouraged to do so by Doyle.
After that, Doyle involved Novak in her escape plan. The couple, after numerous steps for preparing their way out of the prison, Allie decides in the end to stay in Wentworth and share her plan with Jake to get rid of Ferguson, for good.
Allie falls away from Kaz and when Marie Winter arrives at the prison she takes her side and decides to stay with Marie. Allie tells Marie that Kaz poisoned her, Allie presses the panic button during the fight between Kaz and Marie which all but chooses her side.
Season 7
Allie is seen in season 7 with Marie, and barely speaks with Kaz and even when Kaz see's the prison psych she cuts off all her ties with Kaz. Allie also helps tick an item off of Liz's bucket list by organising the sex worker visit.
Allie tells Kaz that Narelle Stang is in Wentworth and is the person who they got the wrong intel on.
Allie also has one last heart breaking goodbye to Kaz who says "Bubba I love you."
Allie ends the siege by shooting Brody
In episode 5 Allie mourns the loss of Kaz, and provides an alibi for Marie, but later gets charged with obstructing justice and she gives Marie her vote for top dog. Allie and many of the prisoners find out Marie's true dark side and Allie finally stands up for herself and is part of Marie's fall from top dog.
Allie is one of many prisoners held hostage during the siege, Allie makes plans to get out of the laundry by telling everyone they can tackle Marie, but Vera tells everyone else not to be heroic. When the group finds out that Marie never killed Kaz and it was Brody, Allie is furious, Marie and Brody take Allie hostage and make their way around the prison, when Ruby goads Marie and runs after her, after a scuffle, Allie manages to shoot Marie in the leg, before shooting Sean in the head and tells Marie that she's done with her now, it is possible that Allie is slotted for the shooting.
Season 8
Allie is first seen in the yard when Boomer tells Allie that former Top Dog Lou Kelly has come back to Wentworth. Allie tells Boomer to give both Lou and Reb a chance when Lou is released from the slot, but before Lou is released from the slot Allie talks to her with permission from the governor, and Allie tells Lou that she is top dog, Lou tells Allie that she needs to be with Reb as Reb is young and is scared, and tells Allie that Reb is transgender. Allie later learns that Lou attacked Boomer in the showers and decides to show Lou the consequences by cutting off her finger with shears.
Allie learns off Boomer that Lou is going to do what she did last time she was in prison, to scam inmates of their money.
Allie, alongside Judy, start a hunger strike after the food supplier had changed. Allie later learns from Ruby that her father is ill and they share a moment. Allie also learns from Judy that her cell was bugged by Cockburn, the prisoners also later find out their strike was successful.
Allie learns off Will Jackson that the protection unit is to be shut down, Allie refuses to promise the safety of only one inmate from the unit, that of Marie and when Marie tries to talk to Allie, Allie tells Marie that if the women come for her she will let them as this happens in the dining room. Allie later punches Marie and is taken to the slot afterward.
Allie is transferred from working in the laundry to the call centre due to Ann Reynolds deal with Lou Kelly. Allie fears that Lou wants to take over as Top Dog and confronts her in the laundry, soon realising that she is outnumbered by Lou's supporters.
Allie hears about Ruby going missing from Will Jackson. After seeing Marie together with Basra in the visitor's centre, Allie is convinced that Marie has something to do with Ruby's disappearance. Allie, Boomer and Judy confront Marie and even uses water torture on Judy's suggestion to get the truth out of her. Marie tells Allie that she thinks that Allie wants to punish her because she loved her once. This causes Allie to snap and she pulls out a shiv ready to kill Marie but Boomer walks in just in time to avert the situation.
Allie is in the call centre when Judy tells her that she is being sent to the US to be stuck in a "hole" forever. While in the call centre, Allie tells Linda that her headset is broken, but Linda spots Judy, and Allie tells Linda that Judy isn't hurting anyone and Linda strikes Boomer. Later, Allie says that they sacked the wrong guard and that Will is a coward for resigning, Allie tells Will he has the luxury to resign, while she does not as it means Lou or Joan could become top dogs. Allie tells Boomer, Judy and Ruby that Ferguson is returning to general. When Allie goes to face Ferguson she tells Ferguson every evil thing she did, when Allie leaves the shower block she talks with Boomer and she says that she hates the person she has become and is "falling apart".
The women are unhappy with the lockdown. Allie is being pressured by Will Jackson about who bashed Ann Reynolds. Judy tells Allie that she saw Lou leaving the kitchen when Ann was bashed. Allie tells the women during dinner that the culprit should own up so that lockdown can end. After Lou starts a riot Allie goes and lags on Lou to Will saying that Lou bashed Ann.
Allie is asked by Vera to help bring Ferguson down by coming up with a plan to get her to reveal everything to them. Allie slips Joan some LSD in her coffee while Allie asked Zheng for some coffee for their unit. Allie is moved back to the steam press in the laundry. Later watches Judy's LSD freakout and tries to calm her down but fails. Allie alongside several officers and inmates watch Joan's freakout from LSD in the corridor, and watches on as Will tries to calm her down.
She finally learns that it was Judy, Boomer and Ruby who attacked the GM, and Judy reveals she knew it was Ann from the start. Allie is later bashed by Lou when the phone Lou has been using to raise money for Reb has gone missing. Allie is later taken to medical. Allie confronts Judy and says the top dog position is just bad and all it does is get you killed. Later Allie is brutally stabbed by Judy but sees Lou in her loss of consciousness, and left for dead.
Season 8 Part 2
In episode one, Allie returns to the prison in a wheelchair, revealing to the inmates that her attack has left her with spinal damage, and so the prison has to get modified for the use of her wheelchair. Lou taunts Allie about the money and says she doesn't have it, later when she speaks with Judy, Judy reveals she kept the money and Allie tells her "fuck Lou Kelly' in agreement. Later in the showers Allie breaks down over her injuries.
In episode two, Allie faces Lou Kelly who accuses her killing Reb, Allie then says to Lou is she was going to kill someone it would be her who did it and someone else. Allie later in her cell falls from the toilet, when Judy finds her she asks if she wants help, Allie doesn't want any but has a chat to Judy who says its all her fault, because of the money that this happened. Allie is later seen in the dining room when Sheila goes missing and a code black is called.
In episode three, we learn that Allie has filed her lawsuit with the prison with Judy's help. Later Allie with Judy says if she ever gets to the point where she needs someone to wipe her bum she would like to be smothered with a pillow, Judy jokes that Boomer would do that. Allie learns off of Judy that if she can get a stay of proceedings on her case she can stay at Wentworth but only if she can help Allie be her carer. Allie agrees and later talks with Judy's lawyer about it. Allie and several other prisoners are shocked when Restraint Station's are introduced. Allie and the crew later feel guilty over Boomer's top dog fight.
In episode four, Allie continues her rehab and later sits in the yard and talks with Boomer. Allie goes to the dentist who replaces her tooth cap with another and while under Allie has some levity. She makes a bold plan to steal a tank of nitrous oxide and use it on Lou. Allie knocks Lou out and finally gets the answer to the question she has been waiting for. Allie learns Lou wanted to kill her and found her already stabbed in the shower after walking past Judy. Allie later gets a kiss on the cheek from Judy who is unaware of the unfolding event.
In episode five, Allie tells the Maire so she can spread the word the person who attacked her was Judy, after Judy high on laughing gas revealed she stabbed her and attempted to get slotted by Will as a result. Allie also with other inmates learns of strip searches because of the camera in the prison. Allie is later seen when the women almost drown Judy.
In episode six, Allie is seen when Linda and the guards do a cell toss, Allie is later in the yard when Marie asks her if she can asked the women if she can move in to her unit and Allie says that she can try but it wont be an easy task. Allie later tells the women which they all refuse to have Marie with them. Allie is later seen in the dining room when Lou finds the eye.
In episode seven, Allie is used in a plot to help bring down Greg Miller. But it comes at a severe cost that both Will and Vera weren't ready for. Allie shivs herself multiple times in the shower block and is then taken to the Psych unit where Miller tells Vera and Will it is a possible case of PTSD from her attack, the siege and Kaz's death. Allie is later released from psych and put back in her unit.
In episode eight, Allie is seen watching Boomer freak out over the fact that she hasn't eaten properly in days. Allie tells Boomer to take a pregnancy test. Later Allie is in the laundry when Marie attacks Mandy Frost. Allie is present when Rita is outed as a cop.
In episode nine, Allie is seen in Marie Winter's dream where Allie and the H1 crew hang her. When Marie wakes up she she's Allie watching the TV on Joan Ferguson's court appearance. Allie is seen in the dining room when Ruby 'disowns' Rita. Later Allie is told by Lou to choose sides either hers or "The Pigs" meaning Rita. Later when Marie dies Allie says that Marie "did good".
In episode ten, Allie is seen mourning the loss of Marie. And later seen talking with Lou where she reveals that she was the one who killed Marie not Mandy. Allie frantically tells H1 the truth, but as she does they learn that the Governor has ordered H1 to be locked down and everyone moved to protection the next day. Later Allie tries to make it to Lou's unit after Lou and Rita fight she tells Linda she was trying to find the nurse. When the prison explodes Allie is trapped and she decides to leave her wheelchair behind. Allie spots the phone under the chair and crawls her way to reach it. As the firies are making their way into the units, they eventually find Allie and take her to the women. Allie shows Rita that she got the phone. Allie says everything will be ok.
Allie's last lines are "It's gonna be okay.."

- Allie was Bea Smith's first female love interest.
- Allie's last lines are also a nod to Bea Smith's last lines in the series 4 finale.
- Allie has a tattoo of two seahorses on her arm, a nod to her and Bea’s relationship. The tattoo was first seen in season 8 episode 1.
