Marie Winter tries to reel in her ex-lover Allie Novak. Jake is injured after saving Liz from being electrocuted, as Will skips shifts as he deals with his Ferguson guilt..
It opens with Vera in the car, as she has a flashback of her seeing the doctor about her pregnancy and Vera's decision that she wouldn't make a good parent, as Jake taps on the window of the car, Vera puts the stuff away as she speaks with him and asks her if she had seen the news this morning, it shows the article and Vera tells him that the press office has been on about it all morning, Vera walks away as Jake says that she is the most level headed person she knows.
In the workshop, Sonia and Boomer are talking as Boomer complains that it may be good for some people but not her, as Sonia says that she will be back at it in no time. As Vera walks in Sonia goes and talks with her and tells her that she has just spent all morning talking to the press about how to deal with the article, Sonia questions and almost blames her as Vera says that she is going to let the press in.
Marie meets with Drago in the visitors centre as Drago asks how Marie is doing, as Marie says that she is fine but wants to know why she is there, Drago tells her that the dealer is getting nervous and needs to contact him to make the deal go smoothly, Marie tells her that she will have to find a phone to do that as the calls are monitored.
Liz tells Spike that Sonia was the one who killed Sharon
Liz visits Spike in the slot as she says that she is there as her peer worker and Spike tells her to leave her alone and says why would she kill Sharon when she loved her, as Liz tells her she knows that she didn't kill Sharon, and Spike asks who did then and Liz tells her that it was Sonia who did it and Spike realises that Sonia was hanging around her unit before the raid. Spike tells Liz when she gets out of the slot she is going to kill Sonia.
Liz walks through the hall as Sonia runs into her and says that she has good news, the police have agreed to let her change her plea and the governor has allowed the media to come in and see the workshop, Liz reacts as Sonia tells her she could be a little more supportive as Sonia's plan begins.
The girls are helping Boomer study for her test as Ruby is asking Boomer about safety in the workshop and what dangers could there be, Liz walks in and Boomer asks why she is so happy and Liz says that she just is as Liz tells Boomer that she might end up with more responsibility in the workshop as Sonia won't be around forever.
Linda informs Marie her request has been denied
Rita visits Marie in her cell as she is talking with Taylah, as she leaves, Marie asks her if she can source a phone and Rita says that Kosta has a phone and she sees if she can source it, Linda comes and informs Marie that her request has been denied, she leaves as Marie tells Rita to get that phone, as Rita leaves Marie does drugs. Rita goes to Kosta's unit and tries to find the phone as Kosta and Juice come in Rita hides, as Kosta tells Juice to go get the girls, Rita runs away.
In the yard, Boomer is at commissary as Marie apologises to her for her tongue injury as Boomer says that it has mostly healed but the biscuits are still a little hard to eat, Boomer tries to buy something but has no money in her account as Marie says to put it on hers, as Allie watches what is going on, Ruby comes in and sits next to her and starts eating her chips, as Ruby questions Allie about Marie, Allie tells her that she did have a relationship with her and that she pulls people in and uses them and it made her go off the rails, Ruby jokingly says that she has a 'spooky vajayjay' and plays around with Allie. Marie watches the two.
Marie walks with Vera and says that she was denied some of her sons belongings as Vera listens to her and Marie says that there is no one left to honour her sons memory, Vera thinking about it tells her that she cannot consider her request and walks off.
Jake saves Liz from an electric shock
Liz is trying to take toast out of the toaster as Jake walks into the unit and asks what she is doing, he realises that she is about to get hurt and he runs over to her as Vera is walking past, Jake and Liz are knocked back by the electricity and Vera rushes over to him and calls out to him as he slowly wakes, Liz and Jake end up in medical as his wrist is being strapped up Radcliffe says that Jake has a sprained wrist and is fine and Liz will be ok with a minor burn. Liz thanks Jake and calls him a hero as she saved his life, Vera says that she could've killed him with her actions as Liz is taken back to bed, Jake asks Vera if she would care if he was dead as Will rushes in and says he heard about what happened, Vera asks Will where he was as he was supposed to be the guard on duty and Jake says that they swapped and he took his shift, Vera doesn't argue and says that they will need to do a report, Vera leaves as Will thanks him.
In the yard, the women are playing basketball as Kaz asks Boomer if she should be studying, Boomer says no as the game continues, Rita comes out and talks with Ruby, Rita asks if she knows where Kosta stashes her phone, Ruby says that she doesn't know and says if she did she wouldn't tell her, Ruby walks off as Allie walks over to Rita and asks her about Taylah, Rita doesn't know and walks off. Allie walks over and talks to Marie and Marie says that Danny would've loved the women playing basketball as Allie and Marie argue over how Allie chose Kaz over her and says that Kaz made her join the Red Right Hand, Allie says that Kaz saved her from life in a brothel as Allie tells her that she can be friends with whoever she wants, she walks off as Kaz gives Marie a look.
Will has a nightmare he is buried alive
During the night, Will has a nightmare about being buried alive, as he wakes from his nightmare he looks around.
Vera is in her office, pacing as she is trying to come to terms with her pregnancy, she has a flashback when she talks with the doctor who asks why she wouldn't be a good mum, and Vera tells her that she didn't have much of a supportive role model growing up and having no support is the thing that scares her. Vera is on a website as she listens to a foetal heartrate as Linda knocks on the door. Linda says that Vera asked to see her as Vera says that Marie Winter requested some of her sons belongings and Linda says that they knocked it back as per new protocol, and Linda asks if she really wants to do so, and Vera tells her to just do it as she makes an exception. Vera watches on.
In the dining room, Sonia is talking with Boomer about the media coming in to the workshop today and says that she needs to be ready for them as she handles everything else, Boomer asks her if she thinks she is ready for it since she doesn't have her ticket, as Sonia tells her she will be fine, Juice walks past as Sonia tells her the Governor has given permission for her to be there and there is $50 in it for her. Boomer questions why Sonia would want Juice anywhere near the workshop as Sonia says there is method to her madness. As Allie looks over to see Marie talking to Taylah, Kaz tells her that she cannot go back there again and says that is why she is here. Allie tells her that the only reason Marie is in Wentworth is because she lost it when her son died and she attacked the doctor, Kaz tells her that it doesn't change what she is, as Liz is standing in the middle of the walkway, Kaz tells her to sit with them.
Kosta tells Juice to 'bank' the phone
Ruby is doing skip rounds as she overhears Kosta doing a deal, Kosta tells Juice to bank it and make sure if her dealer calls back to tell her, Lucy uses a hand command and Kosta doesn't know and Stella says that she wants to know if it is on vibrate, Kosta tells her that she better have 'reception up there' and she laughs.
In the laundry, Ruby tells Rita that she knows where Kosta's phone is and she tells her to have fun trying to get it from her "hawk", Rita looks at her in disgust, as Ruby laughs.
Marie goes through her sons things
Linda brings in the box of Marie's belongings and Vera says have they been checked and Linda replies they have been and they have been cleared, Linda leaves as Vera walks over to the box and starts to go through it as she sees the memories of Marie's late son, as Will knocks on the door, Vera tells Will to wait outside as Marie goes through his belongings as Vera says "you kept all these things?" Marie replies and says that she was never really very maternal and that he changed her for the better. Marie also says that she should've never left the father out as she fear he may have missed out on a lot of things. Vera watches on knowing what Marie is saying is right. Later while walking in the outside of the hall, Vera sees Jake helping an inmate up, she watches on.
Walking back to the unit, Marie tells Will that he might think it is a bit odd that she would want her sons things with her, Will says it is not and whatever helps to ease the pain, Marie is taken to her cell as Will closes the door, Marie holds her sons teddy, as Will walks away, Marie rips out the stuffing of the bear and reveals a sim card.
Marie tells Allie that prison doesn't define her and that she has become quite something
Outside in the yard, Marie walks up to Rita who is sitting on the table and she asks her if she is having any luck with a phone, she says that she is working on it but it is slightly tricky, Marie tells her that she needs it today as she walks off. Marie walks over to Allie and asks if she can sit with her, they talk as Allie tells her that she tried to wrack her brain for quite sometime after everything that happened with her as Marie says that did she find anything, Allie says that she didn't and she really can't blame Marie for the drug use or other things that happened, Marie tells her that Danny would be quite proud to see her now and Allie replies by asking if he would be proud of someone serving 10 years for kidnapping and assault, Marie tells her that she is the only women she ever gave her heart too and the prison does not change her and that she has become quite something. Marie looks up to see Taylah and she leaves Allie alone.
Rita is in the showers as she waits for Lucy, Lucy comes in as she goes to have her shower, Rita takes her clothes from the hook and steals the phone dumping her clothes into the collection trolley as she walks off, Lucy notices her clothes are gone.
In her cell Marie is with Taylah making her throw up gear in balloons, as Rita watches on from outside, she knocks on the door as Marie tells Taylah to go freshen up, Rita hands her a phone and says that she may want to wipe it down, Marie thanks her and tells her to wait outside, Marie makes a call to Dominic as Rita figures out what she is doing.
The press gather in the workshop
Vera is speaking with the media on the garden project as she tells them over 30 of the women are working on the project, as Sonia is giving an interview and says that she is giving those women hope and skills for the workforce, as she spots Lucy walking into the room she walks over to her and is stunned by what she is wearing, Sonia tells her to get to work as Lucy wants money and Sonia says that she will get it later. A reporter asks Lucy what she thinks of working on the project and she puts her thumb down and Sonia says that Lucy is one of the disabled girls who works in the workshop much to Lucy's dismay. As Sonia then says about Boomer she is another one of her stories as she is "practically unemployable" and disabled. Linda walks through the unit as she looks for Liz who is half dressed as Linda asks her if she is going to kill the kettle as well, she tells her that she is supposed to be at work unit but she might want to get changed. Sonia is still talking with the media as Liz shows up and the reporters are asking her questions, with Vera watching on Liz is asked what she thinks of Sonia and Liz calls her an angel.
Lucy returns to her unit, as Kosta finds it funny to see what she is wearing, Lucy gives her a look as Kosta asks her if her dealer has called yet and Lucy signs that the phone has been stolen and Kosta is furious as she asks how did someone steal it if it was hidden. Stella comes in with Taylah and says that they grabbed her after seeing her in the visitors centre as Kosta tells Stella to watch for screws, Kosta takes a shiv to Taylah's face and asks who she is bringing gear in for and at first she doesn't tell her but she then says it is for Marie. Cherry tells Kosta that to get to Marie that need to take down Rita.
Rita is taken to the slot after being ambushed by Kosta's crew, Linda calls it impressive as Rita was last man standing
Rita is walking up the stairs when she is stopped by Taylah who tells her that Marie wants to see her in the dining room and Rita goes there and calls out for her Marie as Kosta's crew surrounds her and she says "Multicultural conventional? Let me welcome ya to country." Rita then fights Kosta's crew in which she knocks out Kosta, launches one of her crew through chairs and punches another one out. Rita is caught by Linda just as she was about to go for Cherry Li, Linda calls for assistance as she tells Rita that she will have a nice long stay in the slot, Rita complains about being the one slot as it was four against one and Linda tells her that it is last man standing and it was pretty impressive.
During the night, Jake comes out of the showers as he sees Will sleeping on the staffroom couch, he wakes Will up and tells him to go home, Will says he can't as he still has his shift in medical to finish, Jake tells him that he will take over and tells Will to get some proper sleep, Will thanks him as Jake goes back on shift and goes to medical where Nurse Radcliffe is on shift doing paperwork she asks where Will is before he points to the bed. Vera is doing paperwork for her medical and she goes through Jake's file to see his blood type but it isn't listed, Vera goes to find him but she sees him having sex with Nurse Radcliffe and leaves.
In the morning, Vera arrives at work at the same time Nurse Lee Radcliffe does, she walks past Jake as Radcliffe gives him a look and says morning as Jake opens the door for Vera he follows her and she tells him that he swapped shifts with Will Jackson, the second time in two days and says that twice they failed to amend the roster, Jake says as deputy that is Will's job and Vera says that if anything had of happened it would have been their fault. Jake says that it won't happen again as Vera tells him that he is the reason why she now questions everything she stood for. Vera walks off as Jake is confused.
Kaz walks into Kosta's medical holding cell as she tells her that she is there as a peer worker and asks her what the fight with Rita was about and Kosta says that she "knows" how much Kaz hates drugs and she heard that Marie was bringing some in and wanted to get them for her and Kaz tells her to pull the other one as Kosta says that it is true and if she wants to go speak with Taylah about it.
Will is grilled by Vera about why he swapped shifts twice
Vera is in her office as Will comes in and says that she wanted to see him, Vera says that he swapped shifts with Jake and didn't amend the rosters and wanted to know why, Will tells her that he forgot to do so and Vera grills him by saying he should know better as it would have left them open to scrutiny they don't need. Will says that he was the one who swapped shifts with Jake as he hadn't been sleeping properly lately. Vera concerned for Will asks if there is something they need to discuss and she says that she knows it is not easy working with Jake, Will says that it isn't Jake and stands up and sits beside him as he is drained, Vera tells him that after everything he has done for her she would happily help him in return, as Will and Vera are talking Jake walks past and sees them wondering if he is about to crack, Vera talks to Will and asks if he needs any help and Will says that she cannot this time. Jake comes in and asks Vera if she has seen the paper this morning and she tells him to get out, Jakes leaves as Will stands up and says that he should get back to work as Vera is concerned for him, Will tells her that he has been suffering from insomnia and the doctor has given him something for it. Will leaves as Jake pulls him up and asks what that was about, Will tells him to relax as he didn't say anything, Jake tells him if he cannot handle being at work he needs to get some sleep, Will tells Jake that they aren't working and he walks off. Vera takes a look at the paper and is stunned to read the article.
Ruby and Boomer are doing a practice test as Boomer is naming gear that would be used for welding as she reads the people she finds out that she has been called intellectually disabled and she is furious, Ruby reads the article as well just as Sonia comes back to the unit, Boomer tells her to look at what the paper wrote and she says that is 'dreadful' and Boomer asks if she can sue for that and Sonia says that she will 'get her lawyer on to it.' as she walks off with the paper she walks over to Liz's cell holding it and she mouths 'thank you.', Liz looks at her.
Kaz tells Marie she will destroy her if she uses the women as mules
Marie is in her unit as Kaz and Allie walk in and she jokes that they are 'just in time' for morning tea and asks how they have it. Kaz says that she has been talking with Taylah Bullock and Marie says that she doesn't say much and Kaz says that she said enough and Allie asks her if it is true and Marie doesn't say anything as Allie walks off. Marie says that must fill her with joy and Kaz tells her that she wont be happy until she is gone. Kaz says that if she uses the women as drug mules but Marie interrupts her by saying that she is treating the same women like they cannot makeup their own minds and she does not hypnotize them. Kaz tells her to watch out or she will destroy her before she walks off. Sonia makes a comment about it being "frosty".
Marie is walking down the hallway when she sees Zara Dragovich coming out of the airlock and asks what happened, Drago tells her that is was a setup and everyone is busted, and they have a rat in the ranks. Drago walks off as Marie is furious.
Liz tells Kaz that Sonia is the one who killed Sharon in a case of mistaken identity
Ruby and Boomer are sitting on the lounges and Ruby is reading Boomer a question on three types of communication in the workplace and Boomer says shouting, screaming and sticking the rude finger up. Kaz walks into the unit and she asks Boomer and Ruby where Allie is and Boomer says not to ask her as she is "dumb". Kaz walks over to Liz's cell and sees her and asks what is wrong. Liz tells her that Sonia killed Sharon thinking that Sharon was her and that is why she poisoned her as she feared Sonia was going to kill her first, but it didn't work. Liz tells Kaz that she thinks she is losing her mind as she tells Kaz that she put her hairbrush in the fridge. Kaz tells Liz that it is going to be ok as she kisses her on the forward and hugs her..
Rita is sitting in the slot as she hears the door open, Linda tells her lets go, as Rita asks if she is being let out, Linda tells her that the cops want to question her over Kosta's assault, Rita stands up and she leaves.
Rita listens to news from Jones and Morelli
Rita is taken to speak with detectives who tell her that the number that she got given came up trumps. Pasquale and Marie's associate Zara Dragovich along with seven other people were arrested during a raid and they found a shipping container full of Indonesian girls. Jones says that they still don't have a clue on who her protector is and Morelli thinks it could be someone in government or possibly in the force. Jones hands Rita a sim card and says to get that into the phone that Winter has so they can monitor her activity and sooner or later she will mess up and call the person. Jones tells her she has done a good job calling her detective. Rita asks what the story with Drago is about.
Vera is in the doctors office as she gives her water and a pill. Vera takes the pill as she looks on realising what she has done.
