Franky lay injured after running from the police, she makes it her mission to find evidence for her freedom. While Sonia plays her game with Liz.
Plot
An injured Franky calls Bridget for help
Franky is injured and she is checking out her gunshot in the toilet of a service station, in pain she tries to clean her wound as it is bleeding badly, as she gets to the floor she passes out from the pain, and when she wakes up the following morning the attendant asks if whoever is in there is ok, as Franky tells him she is in there, she makes a call to Bridget and tells her where she is. Bridget comes to her aid and she helps her to the car as she tells Franky that she needs a hospital, and Franky says that the police will be checking hospitals and that she has a place. As Bridget drives away Franky asks if she should be driving and she says no, as the the police drive past her, Franky not in a good way catches Bridget who tells her to stay with her.
A news report is playing in H1 as the reporter is saying that the police have shot Franky, as Boomer tells everyone to watch the TV, Liz asks if they caught her as Boomer says that shot her and calls the police 'pigs' as Linda comes in and tells Liz that she has a visitor and sees the TV saying it won't be long before she is back.
Will takes pills before he goes on duty in the dining room as Will hears loud noises from the people in the dining room, Liz asks Rita if she wants to sit when them and Rita does as Sonia and Boomer are walking to their table as Sonia says that Kaz must be recruiting and asks Boomer is she is interested in 'punching tits' as she calls and Boomer doesn't say anything. Liz asks anyone if they want a drink as Sonia thinks that she wants one she doesn't and Rita asks her for one, as Boomer asks Sonia why she is so friendly with Liz again as Ruby and Allie are at the food, Ruby piles beans onto Allie's plate and says that it is good for her. Will watches Liz do the coffee as he hears Joan's screams and he pushes her into the hot water urn burning her hand as he screams at Baxter to clean up the mess as Baxter complains Will goes back into the office as Sonia says that she will take care of her.
Sonia tells Liz to use Mea Culpa in her new police statement
Liz and Sonia are in the bathroom as Sonia says that was clumsy of her, Liz tells her that she did what she asked and the detective is coming in as Liz says that she told the detective she wished to make a new statement and says that she doesn't know if she'll buy it. Sonia says that she needs to stick to what they discussed that Don seduced her into making a false statement and Liz says but, as Sonia tells her 'no buts' as she squeezes Liz's hand as she helps dry it off Liz tells her she has already perjured herself why would the police believe her now. Sonia tells her to use Mea Culpa a Latin term for an admission of wrong doing in a part of a conspiracy created by Don, Sonia then tells Liz that are both victims of his.
Bridget drives Franky to the abandoned trains and moves her inside while a hobo watches on from a distance. As they get in the train, Bridget gives Franky some pain killers and she says that she is going to have a look at her wound as she says that she believes that the bullet is still in her. Bridget takes a look and says that it is bad and that she is out of her depth and that Franky needs a hospital, Franky tells her no and that she would rather die then go back inside.
Liz is taken to the visitor centre interview room as she meets with the detective who says that what she has to say better be good as it is her day off. Liz tells her that she wants to tell her that she was right, she did collude when she made her statement, the detective cuts in and says that if she thinks admitting it now will do something to her perjury charge, as Liz butts back in and says that it wasn't with Sonia it was with Don. Liz tells her that Don seduced and used her into making statements to blackmail Sonia into confessing and she tells the detective now she knows the truth.
Ruby is talking with Eddie Romano in the Visitor's centre and he says that the promoter has been working on a fight in the Philippines, Ruby asks if he is for real and to set it up for when she gets out and that it would be a dream to fight there, but Eddie says that he has already passed on the deal and Ruby says to call them back, Eddie tells Ruby that Manilla costs at least $20k, Ruby tells Eddie that she has an opportunity to make some fast money and tells him to set it all up.
Sonia asks Liz how did it go and Liz says that it was a waste of time as she is no longer credible, Sonia says that is why she had to emphasize and use mea culpa, Liz says she tried to do that. Sonia tells her what is the point of her anymore as Liz tells her that she isn't to be underestimated and says that she has shown her hand as Sonia says that hers aren't trembling, Sonia walks off as Liz swears at her.
Vera is watching a news report where the reporter says that police have taped off a scene at a service station and says that police are looking for a female accomplice that helped in aiding the criminal, Vera turns the report off as Jake knocks on the door. Jake says that he has Stevens waiting, he comes in and Vera asks him where they are at with Gilmour's murder, Jake says that none of the women are talking and that he seen the news reporter, Vera tells him to turn off the tvs and Sonia comes in as Jake leaves. Vera asks Sonia what does she want and Sonia says that she wants her workshop reopened, Vera tells her that she is dealing with a murder and two escapees. Sonia tells her that she needs a good news story and that she should let her workshop be what it was intended to be, Vera retorts by saying it is a handy escape route. Vera calls Jake back in and Sonia questions why Vera won't entertain the idea and Vera tells her that she will entertain the deal when 'pigs fly'.
Ruby takes up Kosta's fight club offer
Juice is watching a news report when the TV turns off as Ruby walks into the unit and opens the door to Kosta's cell, Kosta is counting money and she gets up and tells Juice that she told her when to inform her when someone is in the unit, Juice actions a 'how' with her arms and Kosta tells her to 'bang a pot' and calls her a 'tongueless sack of crap'. Kosta asks what's she wants and Ruby says that she wants into fight club but she comes with conditions. Ruby tells her the fights are not to have hair pulling and wants gloves. Ruby also says that she wants a cut from any of her fights and Kosta refuses at first but agrees to a 20% cut for Ruby, Kosta tells her that she will fight when she says so. Ruby walks away as Kosta tells Juice to go and get Spike as they are going to make a 'killing' with the fight.
In the outside gym, Rita watches Ruby training as Allie comes over she says to Ruby that she accepts her apology and Ruby says that it is not an apology and as Ruby continues boxing, she tells Allie that she is going to fight in fight club and Allie says that Kosta is just using her and Ruby says that she is the one using Kosta and Allie asks her if she should even be fighting with her condition and Ruby says that she has been boxing for years. Ruby then asks her if she is going to help her train or not, Allie holds the bag and Ruby punches it as Rita watches on.
Bridget helps Franky clean up after being shot
Franky and Bridget are in the train car as Bridget says that it is crazy and that she needs to give herself up, as Franky says that she isn't going to do that, Bridget says aiding a fugitive means that would be inside together. Franky jokes and says that they would eat her alive in there and Bridget says that she would use her advantage to make her way up to top dog. Franky tells Bridget that she has had the best time with her, Bridget tells Franky not to give up as Bridget says that she is going to call an ambulance, Franky says no and Bridget says that she has stronger meds and antibiotics at home she could go and get those, Franky says no but asks to cuddle with her. As night falls Franky wakes to Bridget not that and hears sirens in the distance she looks out the window to see that a police car is going past as Bridget tells her to get away from the window, the car goes past as Bridget begins cleaning Franky up and the two talk about the first time that they meet during Franky's psych sessions with her, Franky says that the first time she met Bridget she thought she was nosy and irritating but by their second sessions all Franky wanted was her. Bridget says the first time she fell in love with her was when she asked Franky to 'paint her a picture' and the two recite the 'hot girl in a hot car' and Bridget says that no matter what, they are in it together.
In the dining room, Rita walks over to Allie and says that she seen her with Ruby in the gym yesterday and that she is glad that she is helping her with boxing. Allie says that all she did was hold the bag and Ruby punched the 'living shit' out of it. Rita talks about the art of boxing and says that Ruby does need to work on her form and says that she finds it relaxing, Allie asks if she finds being punched in the face relaxing, Rita says it's more the moves and form. Allie tells her that the training she is doing is for something more sinister. Rita later goes to Kaz and sits down next to her and says that she needs to talk with her.
Kaz tells Kosta to end fight club 'or else'
In the kitchen, Kosta and Hutch are mucking around and Hutch tells Kosta to 'eat the leftovers' and Kosta is grabbed by Kaz who pushes her to the fence wall and tells her that she is going to stop the fight club and says that she knows what happened to the last person who crossed her. Kosta laughs and tells Kaz she got the wrong person and tells her that Spike told her it wasn't Rita who messed her up it was Ruby. Kosta tells Kaz that her punishments are 'whack' and that she doesn't have the guts to go through with it and tells Kaz that she will shoot her mouth off if she attempts to shut down fight club.
Rita is playing cards as Kaz comes into her unit and confronts her she asks her if she was the one who bashed Spike and asks why she took the blame, Rita tells her that she is a 'kid on a short sentence' and says that she deserved a break. Kaz is furious and says that is 'just great' before she leaves.
Bridget reads Iman's mail
At the train yard, Franky wakes up and sees Bridget and she asks how she is feeling, Franky replies with "like I've been shot.." Bridget holding paperwork says that she got it out of the backpack and Franky says that she got it from the flat and it was mostly Iman's mail so she grabbed it, Bridget asks her if she has read any of it and Franky says no, but Bridget says that she is holding a bill for LUG, and Bridget tells Franky that it is a lock up garage, Franky asks if Iman had one and Bridget says that she has one.
In the morning, Bridget drives with Franky to the lock up garage and Franky tells Bridget to watch out for her as she attempts to break the lock using a paperclip, Franky tries but cannot unlock the lock and says that the only way she is getting in is with a key. Bridget asks where the key is and wonders if it is still in the flat, Franky says that she searched the place up and down, Bridget then realises that Iman's stuff would be in Wentworth in the belongings box to be returned to her on release, Franky says that now all she has to do is break back in to the prison.
Kaz and her crew are walking up the stairs as Mon asks Kaz what is she going to do about Kosta and fight club, Kaz says that she doesn't know as if she tries to shut it down, Kosta will blab and she will have to stitch Ruby's hand, Mon tells her to do something or else she will look weak and Kaz retorts and says to "tell her something that she doesn't know." as they stop as Kosta is walking past them. Will comes out of the elevator as Boomer and Allie walk over to him and demand to know if there is any news on Franky and also thank him for getting the TV's turned off, Will says that TV was the governor's decision and there is no news on Franky, Boomer asks again and Will snaps, Boomer tells him to 'keep his skirt on' as Boomer and Allie walk away, Kaz walks over and asks to have a word with him, Will says that he has no news on Franky if that is what it is about, and Kaz asks him if he is ok, Kaz tells him that whatever he did he did to protect the women and to remember that he is a good man and needs him to remember that, Kaz walks off as Will looks on.
Sonia tells Liz she needs her help in reopening the workshop
In the yard, Kaz walks out and over to Kosta and tells her that fight club is over and if she ignores that warning that is stuffed. Sonia talks to Boomer and tells her to do something while she has a chat with Liz, Boomer asks her why and Sonia asks her if she trusts her, Boomer says that she does and Sonia tells her that Liz is instrumental in them reopening the workshop and Boomer asks how, Sonia then says why doesn't she trust her, Boomer says that she does and Sonia walks off walking past Lucy giving someone knuckle dusters, Sonia asks Lucy "how is mute going today" before she finds Liz and sits next to her saying that she has had a good chat with Anna her PR woman and says that the campaign is going well and it is slowly exposing Don Kaplan and making sure Sonia is getting to the stage where people believe she is not a criminal and should be released but to do that the workshop must be up and running again, Liz laughs and tells her good luck with that as Sonia tells Liz not to underestimate her reach.
Bridget has tea in Vera's office as Vera is increasingly suspicious of her motive
Vera is on the phone as she is talking with a member of the board about the workshop as Linda opens the door with Bridget, Vera tells the member she will call them back as Bridget says that she can come back at another time, Vera says that it can wait as Vera asks Bridget how she is doing, Bridget says that she is feeling 'crap' and Vera offers her tea. As Vera pours the tea she says that she heard on the news in the morning that there was news of a female accomplice and says that there was a possibility of Ferguson helping her but they both know how that would work and Bridget says that she doesn't know where Franky is but isn't helping her, as Vera spots the blood on Bridget's sleeve, the two talk some more before Bridget 'spills' the tea all over the table and herself as Vera rushes to get a tea towel, Bridget manages to grab Vera's swipe card before telling Vera that she has somewhere to be and that they will catch up again soon, as Bridget leaves Vera is suspicious.
Vera catches Bridget looking through Iman's belongings, telling her she will not cross the line to help Franky
As Bridget makes her way into the holding room, she manages to find Iman Farah's box and as she searches through it, Vera says 'Iman Farah' and says that Bridget has been helping Franky, Bridget says that she is only trying to help her because she is innocent and Vera tells her for her sake that Iman's belongings are staying in Wentworth, as Vera tells Bridget that she could end up in prison and Bridget says that she doesn't care, Vera tells her that she does care and that she cannot cross that line, Bridget says that it is too late and that she has crossed it and Vera says "You expect me to cross it with you?". Bridget asks Vera what she is going to do, Vera tells her to leave and Bridget does, making her way to the car, getting in and taking a breath as she managed to smuggle out the LUG key.
Bridget returns to the train car, as she hears sirens coming closer, she quickly hides the key in her pocket as she steps out of the car to a swarm of police cars, Bridget is arrested as Franky is hiding in behind the train cars, she runs as the police begin a search.
Bridget is being interviewed by the police and Detective Collins tells her that they found her antibiotics among bloody clothes, bandages and mail addressed to Iman Farah in the train car, Collins asks where Franky is or where was she heading as Franky needs a doctor, Hydari says that she could be charged with aiding and abetting and that could get her ten years, Collins tells her that if she cooperates that he can make that charge disappear. Bridget tells them both they are going to have to charge her.
In the hall, Sonia walks past Vera and says hello to her, Vera stops her and says that she doesn't know what strings she pulled so quickly but she just had the board on the phone and says that they were demanding it be reopen and Sonia asks for the result and Vera tells her that she was the deciding vote and tells Sonia that she is nothing more then a prisoner and she should remember that.
Ruby is wrapping her hands as Allie comes in and asks what she is doing, Ruby says that she is wrapping her hands as the fight is back on after someone 'dogged' to Kaz and Allie asks why she wants to fight. Ruby tells her that she has a massive opportunity to become a professional fighter overseas and she asks Allie to help her with her wraps.
Detective Collins gives Bridget back her car keys
Bridget is still sitting in the interview room as Detective Collins says that she is free to go, Bridget gets up as Collins says that one of his officers drove her car to the station, Bridget takes the keys and leaves as Detective Hydari comes in and says that there are two cars on her, she then says she has Iman Farah's mail and if they should look into it, Collins says that Franky took it for a reason.
Bridget leaves the police station as a car with two cops is nearby, Bridget walks over to the car where she sees "LUG" written on the window and she drops the keys on the ground before getting into her car, as she drives off the cops follow behind, as Franky picks up the keys from the carpark and runs off.
Boomer is rushing to her cell as Sonia sees her and goes to speak with her, Sonia asks what she is doing and Boomer says that she is trying to find money and Sonia asks what for, Boomer says that there is a fight and says that she wants to bet on it, Boomer says that Kosta should take her word for it as Sonia asks where everyone is and Boomer says that they need to get to the workshop because that's where the fight is.
Ruby wins the fight against Spike
In the workshop the women are taking bets on the boxing match with Kosta on the phone prepping the match and Boomer comes in late and says that she wants to put $20 of Ruby, Hutch asks where her money is and Boomer says that she knows that she is good for it, Kosta agrees, Ruby is being prepped for the fight as Allie notices that she is versing Spike, as Ruby says that it will be easy but unbeknownst to Ruby, Spike is given knuckle dusters to make the fight unfair. As the fight begins the women cheer on as Ruby gets in several hits before Spike plays dirty, Ruby ends up winning the fight but is hurt due to the knuckle dusters, Kaz rushes in and demands the fight to stop, as Spike hits Ruby in the head, Ruby struggles to get up due to Kaz's intervention, Spike gets a few more hits in before boasting, but Ruby regains her bearings and knocks Spike out. The fight ends with Ruby winning and a furious Kaz tells Kosta that she told her not to go through with it and Kosta asks what is she gonna do about it, Kaz says that if Kosta wants to challenge her that she can after work unit and tells her to bring a shiv.
Franky finds the photo shrine in Mike's lock up
Franky returns to the lockup garage and she uses the key and she opens the lock and she goes into the lockup and closes it behind her as she goes through boxes to find evidence as she moves one box she winces in pain as her gunshot wound starts bleeding again, she hears sirens in the distance as the police arrive as she closes the roller door fully and continues her search, the police tell her that she is surrounded and for her to come out with her hands up, Franky tells them not to come in as she is armed, outside Detective Hydari says that she is bluffing and that they should just go in, as the police go to open the door, Franky manages to find photos of the shrine as the police break in and tell her to raise her arms.
Kaz is slotted on purpose to set up Kosta
In the laundry, Kaz is at the press as Lucy walks past and motions a throat slit as Sonia says that this fight should be good, as Kosta and her crew come in, Rita asks what is going on and Liz says that it is a fight in which the person left standing will become top dog as the two begin their fight, it is quickly broken up by Will and several officers in which Kaz says that they weren't doing anything. Kosta and Kaz are taken away as Sonia looks on.
Allie is helping Ruby and says that she should go to medical as she is urinating blood, Ruby says that she will be fine as Rita comes and Ruby adamant she is ok lets Rita check her injuries and tells Allie to get her some ice as she says that Spike obviously had something in her gloves. Allie leaves as Ruby tells Rita that she doesn't want a lecture, Rita says that she isn't going to get one but will help her protect herself and says that her boxing form is awful and she will teach her to be better and then tells her to sit down and get ice on her bruises.
Will walks into isolation and he opens the door and speaks with Kaz and is surprised that she lagged to a screw. Kaz says that it was the only thing she could do as she has tried to talk to the women and cannot hurt them. She says that she wants to protect the women and if she has to lag she will and Will nods and he leaves as Kaz tells him thank you before he locks the door.
Detective Collins says that all charges against Franky will be dropped on his recommendation
Franky wakes up in hospital with Bridget at her side and Franky tells her that she found the shrine and Bridget is happy for her. They are approached by Detective Collins who asks if she has any idea where Joan Ferguson is, Franky says no and the first she heard about it was in the papers. Franky says that she had found a photo with blood on it. Bridget asks if that could be linked and Collins says that it would be circumstantial at best, he then says that they did find something else. They investigated the locker and then found a phone with pictures of Mike Pennisi all dead and says that they had spoken with Tina Mercado and reveals that she had given a false alibi for Iman's murder. Collins then says that the evidence is overwhelming and Franky's charges will be dropped on his recommendation. Franky is unclipped from the bed as her and Bridget celebrate her innocence.
Franky returns to Wentworth: as a visitor after securing her freedom from murder charges
The following day following her release from hospital, Vera is waiting in the visitors centre as Officer James Nardella escorts Sue "Boomer" Jenkins, Allie Novak and Liz Birdsworth and as the door opens, Boomer looks up to see Franky sitting at the table with Liz emotional due to her wanting so much for Franky. Bridget smiles and stands up and Vera stands next to her as the women talk about how she cleared her name.
Franky looks up into the sky as a kite drifts into the wind
The following hours Alan Doyle is in the park with Tess Doyle flying a kite as Franky and Bridget walk over to her Tess runs to Franky and the two embrace as the kite flies away. Franky looks up into the sky and sees the kite, symbolising the one thing she had fought for: her freedom.
