'Clean Slate' is the first episode of the sixth season of Wentworth.

It resumes 48 hours after the finale of season 5, which showed two inmates escape the prison (Joan Ferguson and Franky Doyle), one on the run and one left trapped in a box and buried alive.

The prison is on lock-down after Franky and Ferguson's escapes, and some privileges are removed from the inmates.

Vera is once again governor, after Derek Channing is fired by the department.

Mysterious inmate Rita Connors arrives in Wentworth under the charge of Armed robbery.

Aboriginal inmate Ruby Mitchell and White supremacist prisoner Spike Baxter are transferred from J Block for causing troubles.

Kaz Proctor re-gains the 'Top dog' status. The secret and solid collaboration between her and Will continues, and leads as well to the end of the lock-down.

Lucy Gambaro, after having her tongue cut by the Freak, is back from the hospital safe and sound, although she won't be able to talk anymore.

It is revealed that Sonia Stevens had survived the poisoning Liz Birdsworth put in her tea. Police considers Boomer as the primary suspect because CCTV recorded the image of her giving the cup to Sonia (while actually it was previously passed to her by Liz).

Allie Novak, Jake Stewart and Will try to handle what they did.

Rita takes the blame for an attack on Spike which was actually made by Ruby, therefore Kaz gets two inmates to sew her hand for going against her stand on 'No Violence'.

Vera and Jake go on blackmailing each other of reporting each other's past illegal behaviours.

Vera Bennett finds out she is pregnant.

Franky Doyle meets Bridget and asks to be taken to Iman Farah's house, but after police follows her, she decides to go by herself. There, she takes all what can be helpful to find evidences of her innocence, although nothing very relevant seems to be found. She then understands that it is going to be difficult to prove her innocence.

Trivia[]
