Plot
Rita is inducted to Wentworth
During the night 48 hours after the escape of Franky and Ferguson, a new inmate is being driven to the prison as a news report plays which is reporting that the prison is still in lockdown and the police are trying to establish whether or not the two had assistance and says that Channing has also been fired as the brawler arrives the press are outside the prison reporting on the escape and the resignation of Derek Channing and the re-promotion of Vera as governor.
As the brawler pulls up a member of the press takes a photo and almost blinds the inmate as the inmate is inducted into Wentworth, Jake takes down the details of Rita Connors who sees that Jake is a senior officer after being demoted from deputy and she asks if she can keep her jacket and Jake says that she can but needs to lose the patches, as the prisons alarms blast as Vera walks to find out what is going on, as Will says that J block set fire to some mattresses but the fires are already out, Vera says to slot the lot of them and Will says that the slot is full and they can move around people to calm things down and Vera says to do it.
Rita is walked through H block where Rita asks what is going on and Jake tells her not to worry about it as Boomer tells Jake that they aren't animals and they need to know what is going on. Rita is taken to her unit she meets Kaz Proctor and Mon Alston who ask who she is and Rita tells them her name and Kaz says that she is in charge and there should be no problems.
Vera takes a phone call from the press and says that she will not be making any comment and not to call again as Will asks how did they get her number and she says that she doesn't know but they do know that Channing has been fired. Vera and Will go to her office where the police are waiting and Will says that he is going to check the new transfers. Detective Collins says that they are following a lead and believe they had help from on the inside and Vera asks them why they think that and Collins says that Bridget Westfall visited Doyle numerous times in the weeks prior to her escape and then resigned weeks before. Vera says that she doesn't know but it is possible that Doyle formed an attachment with Bridget as Hydari asks if it was reciprocated and Vera doesn't know as Collins tells her the sooner they are caught the sooner her prison and get back to normal.
Ruby is moved by Will as J Block was trashed
The guards are moving inmates from J block as Ruby refuses to move Will tells her to move as she refuses and when Kaz and her unit hear it they move and ask what is going on and Will says it is nothing she needed to worry about it as Ruby tells Will that if they are treated like animals they will act like them as Kaz tells her to shut up as she continues to fight with Will she sees Rita for the first time in years., Linda and Will put Ruby in the unit with Liz, Allie and Boomer and Allie asks Linda that she needs to speak with Jake and Linda tells her that she will pop a note in his diary and Boomer asks who the newbie is and Linda says that it is trouble who is in cell 16 and to play nice. Ruby gives everyone a look and says that it wasn't her fault it was the others in J Block who trashed the unit. Liz asks where she was and Ruby says that she was in J block for 3 months and has 6 months left, Liz asks what she is in for and Ruby jokes and says "for being black" as Boomer laughs and Ruby says she is actually in for resisting arrest and says that isn't her fault either and Allie says that she is seeing a pattern as Ruby retorts back with 'believe or not sugartits" and she leaves and goes into her cell where her and Rita realise they are both in prison but both still alive.
In the morning, Franky wakes up to a radio playing a news report playing outside, when the worker moves, Franky runs and takes the radio and his jumper as she goes to the shop and buys a phone and makes a run for it.
Vera is walking down the corridor as Jake asks her how she went with the police as Vera asks what he is still doing there and and he says that he wants to fix the relationship between them and says that if he wants the deputyship back he is deluded. Vera tells Jake that whatever he has on her will be hearsay when she finds out that he had anything to do with the escape.
Vera goes back into her office where Will and Kaz are waiting and she says that the meeting has to be quick as she has a call with the board soon, Kaz tells Vera that she needs to lift the lockdown as the women are very close to losing it as some of the women had never been anywhere near the workshop, Vera says that they had already made out that Boomer distracted a guard, Kaz tells Vera that the only reason the escape worked is because no one knew about it. Kaz tells Vera that the women need fresh air, work and to talk with one another and if they are kept cooped up they will lose her respect. Vera asks Kaz to wait outside and asks Will what he thinks. Will says that J Block has calmed down but another block is starting to kick off and says that they can swap inmates and mix them with other units and Vera tells him to release the lockdown but the TVs remain off.
Will and Kaz talk and she thanks him as Will says it works for him as he didn't want to deal with a riot, as Kaz asks him how it is going because he looked "like crap", Will says that it is late nights, and working doubles dealing with the escape and the police coming in and out. Kaz asks him if there are any leads and he says no as Kaz says that it doesn't make sense on why Franky would escape with Ferguson and says that sooner or later she will be back.
Will tells Jake he is sick to his stomach and only keeping it a secret for the women
Jake is in the staffroom as Will comes in. Jake tells him he looks terrible as he says that Vera is trying to get rid of him and wants to know what to do, Will says to use his messed up brain of his, Jake says that it is his problem as well and Will grabs him by the throat and tells him that he has done his part and he feels sick about it and he is only do his part because of Vera and the women, he leaves the staffroom as Jake looks on.
As lockdown is lifted the women go outside as they express their support for Kaz, as Ruby and Rita catch up again, Rita tells her that it is best that they don't tell anyone they know each other and Ruby says that they won't be hearing it from her. Kaz asks Liz and Allie if they know what Franky was planning and they both say no as Kaz asks how does that work and Liz says that maybe she didn't have a choice. Kaz walks off and Liz says that she has been holding onto Franky's necklace and is wondering where she could be, Allie says that she is going to finish a job.
Franky hides in plain sight
Franky sneaks into Bridget's backyard and makes her way into the house, where Bridget is listening to a news report and is spooked by seeing Franky who asks her what happened to her and Bridget says that she is fine and it was just an accident. Franky says that she was going to ask her for a ride and Bridget asks to where and Franky says to Iman's, as Bridget calls it crazy and says that if the police had found something they would have. Franky says that the police are only investigating her and she will go down for murder if she doesn't find anything else. Bridget tells her that she will get her another lawyer and Franky says that won't a difference. Bridget asks where Ferguson is an Franky says that she didn't see her and Bridget tells her that she should've told her what she was planning and Franky says that she would've talked her out of it. The police knock on the door as Franky nods to Bridget to answer it and she does with Franky standing off to the side, as Detectives Collins and Hydari introduce themselves and says that they are investigating the escape and asks about the nature of her relationship with Franky as the two were close and Bridget says that she needed support and Collins asks her why Doyle needed more support, Bridget says that she was patient and cannot discuss it and Hydari tells her that they are investigating an escape and don't have time for confidentially. Bridget tells them to come back with a warrant as she won't be talked to like that and she needs to rest. She closes the door and looks around to see that Franky had left much to Bridget's surprise.
Allie is in the governor's office as Vera tells her that she was close with Franky and she must of had an idea to what she was planning but that is not the reason she is in her office. Vera asks her if she knows anything and says that an officer might have been involved. Allie doesn't say much as Vera tells her she will advocate on her behalf and may be able to reduce her sentence. Allie tells her that she doesn't know anything.
Allie demands to know if Ferguson suffered
Jake is standing in the corridor as he sees Allie walking and he calls her over as Allie asks him where he has been, Jake asks what did the governor want and Allie tells him that the governor believes that an officer was involved and Jake asks if she said anything and she says no Jake says to keep it that way. Allie then asks Jake about Ferguson and she wants details on her death and how she suffered, Jake tells her that Ferguson is dead and it was the end of the discussion and he walks away as Allie is relieved.
