Franky's escape plan could have fatal consequences and Liz is forced to take drastic measures to protect herself.
The sanitary bins are delivered to the prison as it's Joan's plan to get the drugs following freely into the prison as the bins are taken around the blocks, the Asian crew go to the collect the drugs from the toilets. As the crew watches on at the trade growing and the women trade and buy drugs, Kaz finds an inmate in the showers who is overdosing, she screams and walks away.
Tina is in the kitchen preparing meals as Kaz says to her 'what did I tell you..' and Tina just insults Kaz by calling her shit back, as she goes to leave Boomer grabs Tina and tells her to wipe the smile off her face or she'll do it for her, Tina tells Boomer to 'back off Bam Bam' which causes her to lose her temper, as Kaz stops Boomer from hitting her Boomer tells Kaz 'what is the point of muscle if you're not going to use it.' Boomer walks off as Kaz tells Tina she will again find out how Tina is getting the drugs in.
Boomer is sulking back in the unit complaining about Kaz when Boomer mocks Kaz, Franky mocks her as well by saying 'because she's got principals to uphold.' and then play punches Boomer, Boomer asks if she is moving back to the unit and Franky says she has because Sonia has returned, and Boomer who is getting drunk off the shampoo mix says she has to finish the rest of it. As Boomer goes to her cell, Doreen asks Franky to help her practice for her hearing tomorrow but Franky says she has a heap of stuff to do as well but she says she can get it done and then they can practice her speech tonight.
Franky and Allie speak in Franky's cell as she has been moved into Bea's old cell and her red blanket and other stuff is still there as it had been packed by Liz and Allie hadn't had the chance to look at it yet, Allie tells Franky it's fine because if it had to be anyone else she was glad it was her. Franky then asks Allie for that favour.
Liz tells Vera to put Sonia into protection
Liz goes to speak with Vera where she tells Vera that she has been waiting 3 days to see her, Vera asks her what's the matter, and Liz says that she saw Sonia return to the prison and wonders why she is back in Wentworth. Vera tells her that Sonia was arrested and remanded to Wentworth for the murder of her husband as the police had found his remains, Liz asks Vera not to put Sonia back in general Vera argues and says she cannot keep Sonia in a holding cell forever, Liz tells her to put her into protection so she doesn't know about Liz being 'Witness X'. Vera tells Liz that she cannot put Sonia there as she needs to request to be placed there. Liz tells Vera that Sonia has killed before and that she doesn't want to be next, Vera tells Liz that she can be placed into protection, but Liz says it would be a major red flag if she did so, Vera tells Liz that Sonia won't find out about her Witness X status if she keeps quiet and stops panicking about it. Liz leaves the office and is standing next to some corridor doors when Sonia spots her and Liz asks what she is doing back in Wentworth, Sonia says that a "deranged cop" couldn't pin her for Helen's murder so he went for her husbands murder instead.
Boomer dangles a scared Tina over the stairwell rail after being caught selling drugs (again)
As more drugs are being handed out Boomer spots Tina Mercado and yells at her and tells her that she saw that, Boomer grabs Tina and holds her over the stairwell and tells her how many times does she need to be told, Jake spots Boomer from below and he tells her to let Tina go or she'll go to the slot, Jake pulls Boomer off her and tells her to go to lunch, Boomer leaves as Jake talks with Tina and says that Boomer is pissed and he says can't be bothered to do the paperwork so he'll let her sleep it off, Tina says Jake is wrong and that it has something to do with the business.
Jake talks with Will and says that he had to break up a fight between Jenkins and Tina and Will isn't surprised, as Jake says Boomer was hammered and he asks Will if Boomer had any history brewing 'lunatic soup' Will says he thought Boomer gave it up and finds it disappointing and he says he'll check it out. Will goes to Boomer's cell where she is sleeping off the booze, Will sees and searches Boomer's cell after finding the bottle of shampoo booze, Will finds a foil behind the toilet as Boomer was up from her nap. As Boomer is escorted to the slot Kaz asks where she is being taken and why she is being taken, Will says she was drunk and had booze in her cell, Boomer says the drugs were planted by Will, Kaz realises this makes a alot of sense.
Allie go through the box of things that were Bea's and she sees the blanket and holds it close to her as she also holds close Bea's journal with her, Allie breaks down as this is the last things she has of Bea and she looks through the drawings and holds close the one Bea drew of herself and Allie.
Allie speaks with Bridget, where Bridget tells Allie that Bea was deeply in love with her, as Allie says that she didn't mean to go to her office and just cry but she just can't get over the thought that Bea is never coming back. Bridget tells Allie that it will get easier and the sadness doesn't last forever she also tells her to not block out her feelings as it is our 'people heal' and not to block it out with drugs, Allie says that she promised Bea she would never use again as Bridget tells her it can be easy to OD again when you've been sober for a long time..
Marge tells Allie that the 'dead know' and understand
Allie sees Marge tending to the memorial wall by singing to the wall, Allie tells her it is lovely. Marge tells Allie 'their watching us' Allie replies 'the screws?", Marge then says the dead, the dead are watching and they know and understand everything. Allie walks over to Tina and asks her for some "H" and but Tina doesn't want her money as she is a 'Kaz Spy', Allie says she isn't but Tina tells her to 'prove it.'
Will is walking down the corridor when he is asked by Liz why Boomer was slotted, Will tells them that he slotted her because she had drugs and she was drunk, Kaz buts in and says that Will slotted Boomer to protect the person who is doing his drug deals. Kaz then reveals it was the reason behind why he lost the deputy governorship, Will calls Kaz a dickhead and he walks away as Kaz calls him a coward for doing so.
Franky is on garden detail as she watches the brawlers come in and out of the prison, and she makes her way into the brawler shed as Bridget goes to walk to the doors in the hallway she goes to grab her swipe card but she realises she doesn't have it, Bridget walks off to go and find it, as Franky attempts to loosen one of the wheel nuts an officer comes in to check on something, so Franky hides underneath the brawler until the officer goes away
Bridget is looking for her swipe card in the staffroom and when Linda comes in she asks if Bridget has lost something. Bridget says she has misplaced her swipe card and she asks Linda if someone had handed one in, Linda gives her a look and Bridget agrees with the point. Bridget asks Linda if she can search up where her card was last used so she can stop whatever is happening before it turns to shit, Linda then says if it hasn't already, Bridget asks for Linda help by saying she would be grateful for it. Linda agrees and she says "remember what happened to the last person who lost their swipe card." referring to Brenda Murphy, and Bridget knows the consequences.
Bridget yells at Franky after she had her swipe card stolen
Franky finished up loosening the wheel nuts on one of the brawlers wheels as she goes to leave she disposes of the wrench that she stole, when she is caught out by Bridget Westfall, Bridget takes Franky back to her office and she asks why she shouldn't report her, Franky jokes and says because 'she's a good root' Bridget goes off saying what would've happened if someone else got her card and getting Allie to do her dirty work could've cost her the job at Wentworth, Franky says that no one did catch her and no one else knew. Franky says that she feels alone in prison again and if she gets convicted she'll wither up and die. Bridget tells Franky she can't do something like that again and makes her promise that she won't. Franky agrees in tears as Bridget is also in tears over the whole mess.
Franky returns to her cell after talking with Bridget and when she sits down Allie comes and asks Franky how it went, Franky says it is fine and it went well, Allie says that Franky needs to return the swipe card before she notices it has gone missing, Franky says there is no need to, Allie says she feels guilty for pulling a swifty on Bridget like that, Franky says it has been handled and it's good but she refuses to tell Allie why she wanted the card in the first place.
Kaz is in the governors office where she is talking to Vera saying it was Will who planted the drugs on Boomer so he could "protect his business interests" as Vera says to stop wasting her time with bogus accusations but Kaz tells Vera to think about it and says there has to be an officer involved in the drugs trade so soon after a crackdown. Kaz tells Vera that if she doesn't do anything she will take it to the ombudsman, Vera tells good luck and that he is incredibly busy, Kaz walks out and says 'thank you for time.'
Allie, Liz and Franky listen to Doreen's speech she will give to the parole board
Franky is standing as the cell gate is closed for the night as she turns to talk with Doreen about her parole board speech, Doreen tells Franky that she can't as she is too nervous to do so, Franky tells her to calm down but Doreen says she faces the board tomorrow and is shaking so much. Franky comes up with an idea where she gets Liz and Allie to help in a roleplay scenario to help Doreen get over her nerves. Doreen starts to give her speech to the girls as they start to heckle her to get her used to what the board will say during her hearing, Doreen who hates the idea of the heckling comes into her own when she delivers the speech.
Franky is in her cell getting ready for her committal hearing as Liz asks if she is ok, Franky jokes and says she is fine as if 'you been to one hearing you've been to them all.' as she walks away she is told by Jake that there is a backlog at the courts and her hearing has been bumped, Franky can't believe it as Jake walks away Franky realises her plan to escape via the brawler has been compromised and someone else is going to get hurt.
Juice attempts to extort Sonia by telling her that she needs protection from her crew, Sonia who knows she is being played plays along as she asks "whom" is the one needing the protection, Juice says that it is for Sonia to prevent her from being bashed by other prisoners, Sonia then tells Juice that she doesn't respond well to extortion and walks away, leaving Juice's crew fuming.
Kaz is talking with her crew as Jake spots her and asks her why she isn't ready for court yet, Kaz says her appeal got pushed back again and Jake says that it has been moved up and she has to get ready, Kaz is excited as she rushes to get changed for court saying to Jake that some notice would've been nice, Jake tells her to speak with her lawyer.
Will is talking to Vera over Kaz's accusations of Will being the officer who is bringing the drugs in and supplying them to the women, Vera says she doesn't think that and what she thinks isn't relevant, Will says it is to him. Vera says as the governor she has every right to investigate claims and Will goes off saying that Proctor can do that but Vera says it was backed up by Boomer. Vera says the allegations will be proven false but due to Will's history of drug use if she doesn't investigate it will look suspicious and Proctor will go to the ombudsman over the allegation, Will says that Vera has it in for him and doesn't want him back as her deputy and he also says before leaving that Vera is letting Kaz bang one more nail into his coffin.
Linda escorts Kaz to the brawler for her court appearance, as they go outside Kaz says 'thank you'. Will tells Linda that she can take the J Block Shift and he'll go, Linda says it suits her as court is 'boring as bat shit' and goes back inside as Will tells Kaz to get in the brawler, Kaz tells Will that his days are numbered.
Doreen speaks with the parole board giving a passionate speech about how prison has changed her for the better
Doreen is taken to her parole board hearing, Doreen gives a passionate speech about her time in Wentworth as Vera watches on proud of what Doreen is saying to the board. Doreen tells the board that she was young and dumb in 2012 when she was sentenced to time in prison and that she was previously denied a hearing by the prisons former governor as she had become pregnant with Joshua Taylor, Doreen says that this was the best thing that happened to her as it has given her a second chance, and she says that justice has been done and she wishes for her transfer so she can be a good mother to her son and be with her partner Nash, Doreen also says she wishes to better herself even further when she is released for the sake of her community and her family. Vera thanks Doreen and the board for listening.
Will confronts Kaz over her allegations against him
As the brawler leaves the prison with Will and Kaz on board as they drive in traffic Will tells the driver to take the next exit and the drivers does so and the van pulls over to the side of the road where Will gets out and talks with Kaz, she asks why they stopped and what is going on. Will just stares before Kaz says out of the blue if he wants a blow job, he says in her dreams, Will then asks why Kaz told Vera that he was the officer supplying drugs to the women, and Kaz says that he is the officer bringing the drugs in. Kaz says she was only doing it to protect the women Will says she has a lot of nerve if she thinks he is the problem. Will tells Kaz she is fucked and that she is poison, Will tells her that he could rip her head off and no one would even care, Will proceeds to punch the wall to a shocked Kaz as the officer outside knocks on the brawler. Will gets out and back into the brawler and the brawler drives off leaving a bolt behind.
Will helps Kaz get out of the brawler
As the brawler hits a pothole, the brawlers flips and and rolls over multiple times, where in the back Kaz is thrown around in the back and is knocked out cold after the rolling of the brawler finishes. The brawler stops rolling and ends up in the lake, a fisherman drops his rod to see if he can help with what is happening. With the brawler slowly sinking, Will manages to open the door of the brawler and help out the injured officer, Will gets the officer out and tells him to call an ambulance, when he gets the officer to shore he realises that Kaz is still trapped inside the brawler, Will jumps back into the lake and swims over to the brawler, where he tells Kaz to wake up. Kaz finally wakes up and realises just how much trouble she is in, Will uses all of his might to get the security grid off of the brawler door, when he gets in he releases Kaz from her seatbelt and he asks her what injuries she has, Kaz says her arm is broken, Will tells her to stay awake as Kaz is going in and out of consciousness. Will tells Kaz she needs to make her way to shore and to hold her breathe as she gets out of the brawler, Kaz makes her way to safety as she scans the water for Will who hadn't resurfaced, Kaz screams Will's name as the paramedics make it to the accident site, Will finally resurfaces and swims to shore, he then asks Kaz if she is ok, Kaz nods as they receive medical treatment.
Franky is seen walking down the hallway as Bridget pulls her aside and asks her if she had anything to do with the brawler sabotage, Franky denies it and asks what's happened, Bridget said the van crashed and Franky asks who was in it, Bridget says that Will and Kaz plus the brawler driver were in it as the accident happened. Bridget walks away as Franky asks if they'll be ok, Bridget says she doesn't know. Liz and Doreen are seen talking about it where Liz says it must've been serious as Doreen said she heard it crashed into the river. Allie runs into Franky and asks if she heard about the crash, Franky then says she fucked up.
Franky walks back to her unit where she feels the guilt of what happen hit her, until Allie comes in with an update and says that Kaz and Will have been taken to hospital but they are ok all things considering. Franky breathes a sigh of relief that they are ok, but Allie asks what Franky did to the brawler, Franky reveals that she loosened one of the wheels and Allie goes off at Franky and says what did she think she was going to do, Franky says she hoped that the brawler would pull over and transfer her to another vehicle and Allie interrupts by calling her planned fucked up and that Kaz could've died because of it and it made Allie apart of Franky's plan, Allie waves off and leaves.
Allie sees Tina and Kim working out in the gym and she claims responsibility for the accident in an attempt to convince Tina of her allegiance in exchange for heroin, but Tina refuses to believe Allie's tale as Tina said it was an accident but Allie says that it was no accident, and she says that she stole the spanner that went missing and loosened one of the wheel nuts and that she stole Bridget's swipe card to do so, Tina tells Allie it's a good story and Allie leaves mad that she couldn't get the gear she wanted. Juice talks with Liz and tells that she wants Sonia onside paying the 'The Boys' protection, Liz asks why and Juice says if Sonia knows about Liz's heart.
Sonia is bashed by Juice's crew for failing to pay for protection
As Sonia talks with Liz and Doreen about how confident Doreen is that she will end up getting parole Doreen says that she has it in the bag and Sonia says that she loves the confidence, as Sonia asks Liz if she's ok and Liz says that she'll just miss Doreen. As they walk off Liz tells Juice she is trying but she will not budge, Juice calls Sonia a 'snooty bitch'. Sonia is in the shower block getting ready for the night, Juice and her crew come in and tell the others who are there to get out, Sonia asks what they want and Juice says that they are about to demonstrate why she needs protection, Sonia tries to back away as she calls them pathetic, but before she can leave the showers the crew pull her back in and bash her.
Allie is seen looking at the drawings of her and Bea as Tina comes into her cell and gives her drugs as her 'story' about tampering the brawler checked out, as Allie thanks Tina, Tina just tells her to give her the cash for it, as the alarm blares for a code blue the intercom tells all available officers to go to medical as Sonia is wheeled out on a gurney bleeding heavily from her face.
Doreen learns her application for transfer has been denied
Doreen talks with Vera and Vera asks if she knows anything about that the code blue Doreen says she doesn't but she also asks if the reason Vera wants to see her is because of her transfer news. Vera tells Doreen that the board declined her Application for Transfer. A devastated Doreen says she thought she did really well when she faced the board and Vera says that she did very well and she couldn't have presented her case any better, Doreen asks why it was refused and Vera says that the board simply just said no but she will receive a letter in due course revealing why. Vera says to a devastated Doreen that she can organise extra phone privileges and she only has six months until her parole comes through. Doreen says she doesn't want those extra privileges as it means nothing if she can't see her son, Doreen also says even when she does get parole she can't get on a plane to travel until corrections says it ok to do.
Liz goes to medical where she sees Nurse Radcliffe as Peer Worker and she sees Sonia and her injuries after being bashed by Juice and her crew. Nurse Radcliffe says the ACL on one knee is gone and her ankle is badly sprained and her other injuries are just superficial, Liz hears that Sonia refused to give the governor information and Radcliffe says that maybe Liz can find out who did it, Liz basically says that she wont because she doesn't want to be eating out of a straw as well, Radcliffe gives her five minutes to see her. Liz talks with Sonia and she tells her that the girls are 'thinking of her' after her 'fall in the shower' and Liz says between the two of them that Sonia should move into protection but Sonia flat out refuses and says that they won't win.
Kaz returns to Wentworth after being saved by Will
Kaz returns to the hospital with her arm in a cast after being rescued by Will. Kaz asks if she has to stay overnight in medical and Will says she has to because she took a blow to the head. Kaz thanks Will for saving her and Will tells her that she may not have deserved to be rescued but he saved her anyway. Kaz is lead to her holding unit as she says to Will that in the future they'll be able to work together. As Joan watches on from the shadows she imagines herself as governor again and states 'now is the time.'
